They gathered around early in the morning. The boys were finally ready. The dump truck borrowed for the haul. Saving newspapers to be recycled for six months were heavy. The payout for such delivery was no where near to effort. The thought and shared profit were worth it. Just about noon all 4 boys were finished loading the truck with the papers. At the time there was no law that did not allow riding in the bed of a truck. One of the mothers drove the truck along with one of the boys on the cab. The three remaining boys rode on top of the newspapers. The trips was 33 miles one way. Part way to the destination the boy in the cab joined the other three in the bed of the truck. At 13:00 on Friday the 13th the truck veered over the large lip of pavement. The mother over corrected the truck by pulling the steering wheel hard to the left. The truck made nearly a 90 degree turn into the median. As the truck came in contact with the soft grass in the median it dug in and turned on its side. Sending all 4 boys flying at 50 mph in the air. I could not tell you more because I awake 3 days later in the hospital. I was 13 at the time. If you are not superstitious maybe you should be?

Myself, I'm going to be more lazy. I do way to much. I help other people all the time. I'm nice and polite to strangers. I hold doors for women even. This year I'm worrying more about me. I will open doors only enough to allow myself through. I will walk straight to where I need to go everywhere I go yielding to no-one. I will only bring to work enough food to get myself through the day, never share extras. I will stop waving to folks greeting me so that my energy could be reserved for activities only I want. Waste no breath saying "Hello", "Good Morning", "Good Afternoon", "Good Evening", or any other salutation in order to reduce my own carbon footprint. The heck with maintaining the "Newer, Kinder, More Gentler, Me". I just wonder how long I can do it?

Paris would be great if the food wasn't made so tasty because everything is actually rotten, the people actually used the perfumes they make instead of just selling it, wine is made from rotten grapes and that's no secret, the language spoken are sounds people make while on the toilet, off the beaten path it smells like every other major city in the world (urine, feces, filth,..), never met a polite person there unless they were to receive money for what little service they give. Shall I speak more truth and go on? I've been there on a shoestring budget and on a stack of cash. You get what you pay for there, like all cities. Montreal, the sister city of Paris in North America is exactly the same only much colder during the winter. Save your money and test if you'd like the atmosphere their first. Bring lots of cash if you are looking for romance. Try Italian countryside if you want romance or even Greece. They appreciate tourist a lot more.

The silent treatment says too many different things. That is the part that might frustrate you most. I say a few things, "Never set high expectations", "Never let your emotions rule the moment", and if you go bar hopping, "Go ugly early and save your money."
