Well here goes...me and my ex broke up in July of last year because she said she wasn't happy anymore, I said ok and let her go.I don't believe in getting to an arguement or fighting.I told her when we met 9 years ago all I wanted is for her to be happy. It's just real hard to get back in the dating scene after 9 years, kinda lost and don't like being alone at 38 years old.(will be 39 April 24).Any kind of advice will be appreciated.Thanks.....

well, I was in a relationship for 14 years, we split up 2 years ago..Im pushing 50. My options? Enjoy life to the fullest, dont worry about what I dont have, make the most of what I do have.

My advice?? Get out and meet people, dont stay locked up in your house in front of your computer drinking beer...take up a new hobby, go back to school, get involved in your church (or any other social network you might be a part of) point is, put your self out there in the world, you never know what might be waiting for you just around the corner.

good luck

Yeah, I'm your age and just ended a 9 year relationship. I'm not ready yet. I'm just here to chat for now. I thought making a few friends would be nice until I feel like it's time to return to the market. Uugghh! Good luck to ya! I've met some very nice people here so far. flowerforyou

Being together for that long of a time to have it end is very painful. There is nothing we can tell you, that will make you feel better.

My best advice for you right now is to enjoy your life, and put yourself in the number 1 spot. When people date or together for a very long time, they tend to put there person they are with before them.

Its probably been a long time since you focused on you. So enjoy this time. Take the time to know who you are again, your wants and your desires.

Also I have learned if you try really hard to find or search for someone you never can find that right person. Let love come to you, don't go looking for it.

Make as many friends as you can, you never know what may happen.

Humm ya have just started I ended a 11 year relantionship 16 years ago yep still single have dated but........ still looking for that special one. All I can say is live your life and enjoy it learn to lover yourself again before jumping into any relationship. It does not take another to make you happy. You should be happy first and let the other one enchance your life instead.

Good luck and let nature take its course.bigsmile

The most important thing is to live for yourself. Start doing all the things you had an interest in. Well, the things that you can easily take up. Find groups interested in the same things. The reality is, the more active you are in things, the more likely you will meet people.

Unfortunaletely, most of my interests are only popular amoung women. So I don't meet a lot of men in my areas of interest. Or age appropriate men. But I figure that other women know other men as well, and increases the opportunity to meet new people.

It seems like I'm on here a lot, but I'm also involved in two clubs and three organizations.

Living for yourself, ingulging in your hobbies and passions also make a person happier, and a happier person is more likely to meet people and start dating again. At least that is what all the literature on it and all the people seem to say. It probably works. I'm just extremely extremely picky.

Yeah, approach women you are interested in while detaching yourself from the outcome and assume rapport from the start so that you may allow yourself to converse comfortably.

And remember, women are human just like you and me, not some scary monsters that bite your head off if you say the wrong thing.
