There are quite a few lovely ladies that I would love to start "something" with on JSH but let's face it, a lot of distance between you and someone poses a big logistical problem and adds stress and strain, right at the outset. It might be worth the hassle but do you really want to take the chance, when there are other alternatives closer by?
A tough decision to make for sure!

Lexy Lexicon~~ grumble

Shuddup! noway Or I will make you watch LMN, where the volume is not in tune with the commercials. By the way, I gave up Survivor and American Idol. Proud? I am....

Is that the 3rd reference to LMN?

I've actually watched a couple of those movies. That may be the last venue in the world, with the possible exception of the depiction of Nazis in some WWII-era movies, where an entire group (in this case, the male gender) is wholly vilified without a hint of any redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I see a thematic link between that mentality and the "Why Do All Men _________?" posts here. (And I've seen it played the other way around, too, so it's not just the women doing the judging.)

Ohhh I haven't watched LMN or Lifetime in years...

I did in college, with my mom. We used to play name that actor/actress: Bruce Box-whatever, Ann Jillian, Muriel Hemingway, etc, etc... the ones that repeated. It was hysterical! laugh

Ahhh...just an 'Internet Rule" Anyone of the opposite sex that you would *really really* be interested in, and talk to on a routine basis will be greater than a 2 hour drive.

Anyone in the local neighborhood won't give you time of day.

This is the Incontrovertible Rule, in my experience. Everyone I talk to is 897,000 miles away or more. I'm completely invisible to anyone closer than that.

...isn't distance wonderful?

.....it gives you the opportunity to have all kinds of dreams and phantasies about a person you will most likely never meet.......

you fall in love with a "phantom" on your screen.

he or she can be anything you want them to be. of course you would "just love" to meet that person, but they are just "too far away".....

for me, only a trip to the moon would be too far.

but then again, maybe i am more risk oriented than most other people.

Tis some realities in what you write there Sleepless. But then at least I am not getting my ear chewed off like some. laugh

Anywho - flirting is fun, no matter the distance.

Now....just have to get a couple of the wimmins in here to flirt back!

I thought one was pretty nice..the distance wasn't that bad, but he turned out to be more of a self centered, judgemental jerk than anything. So I don't have to worry about the distance thing anymore..:)
