I often wonder about what my grandparents really think about life now... going from radio to satelite television. From the depression to recession now. How they would not have in their wildest dreams thought that life would be the way it is now.

My grandmother has told me the story for her and my grandfather renting the upper story of his parent's house. Having to hang cloth diapers to dry in the house. How exciting it was to have one of the old washing machines that had the wringer on it.

It seems odd in someways to me that as a child I never thought that I would be making friends and possible relationships through a piece of plastic and electronics. Connections that are very real. And this seems odd, b/c I cannot see your smiles or hear your laughs from a joke, or hold your hands as I pray for you or give you a hug when you had a bad day.

But yet we still put smiles on each other's faces, feel the warmth of each others prayers and feel better by each other's encouraging words.

I am definately a person that thinks too much. But I also feel its important to reflect on life.

These are my thoughts and I am sharing them with you all.

Please feel free to share your thoughts.

Here's something that few people under 60 know about: Reminisce magazine. You can get it at the big bookstores. It's filled with "good old days" stories from people who are 50 years old and up... (few 50 year olds, though... more the 70-100 year olds).

it's kind of cool in a grandma sort of way.

I was watching something on PBS today about traveling to the moon. They're wanting to use the old Soviet rockets (that failed) to do commercial space traveling to the moon. It was interesting to see how far we've come, yet how much more we still have ahead of us.

I often think about some of the stories the older generations have, and the stories I'll have to tell my grandchildren and how I may see things at that time.
