I can't remember ever having to...but I've never dated that much.

Yes, I do...I have a rich man in another town that is very interested in me...I am not in him that way...he's just a nice person...not dating material...anyways..once I mentioned I am bad at directions, he said, "Let me buy you a garmin"...All I could think of to say was, "Then , I would never learn how to recognize landmarks" LOL I was at a loss what to say...another time I said I had to go out in garage and see about my riding mower because it wouldn't crank. He said, "let me add you to our lawn care account"

I don't find it hard to do, I would much rather get a note to that effect than have no reply at all. Silence is just rude IMO

No if you just met the person it should be easy to say yes or no be honest,

just say "sorry - not interested?" Not really. However, I find things get a little more difficult when the offending party just won't get the hint. This actually happened to me one time- I told this one lady that I wasn't interested (I just got some weird vibe from her for some reason), and she just wouldn't stop following me. She seemed like a nice person, so I didn't want to start being curt with her. And I didn't want to hurt her feelings, as I sorta gathered she was one of those "fragile ego" types. But I had to put my foot down at one point and tell her to get lost (not literally) at one point. |
