I went shopping last night hoping to buy a pair of jeans...ugh...

Am I wrong? I've got this notion in my head that if I am old enough to have worn hip-hugging bellbottoms (and I am!) I am too old to be wearing today's version of such. I just wanted a pair of'old-fashioned', white denim jeans...you know - with the waist being at MY waist and with tapered legs. Impossible to find! Now, I might be convinced that I'd look O.K. with the flared legs, but I really don't think I should be wearing those low-riding numbers noway ! Am I wrong? Is anyone selling clothing for women my age?

Maybe I should let my fingers do the walking...on the net. I may not find what I'm looking for, but I know I'd save time & gas!

Hope you all have a great day...happy shopping ;-)

Yes it is hard to find classic clothing. Go to Walmart and all the clothes are for teenyboppers.

Alco still has run of the mill blue jeans here where I live.

But I can't find a simple black lined skirt to save my neck.

I have found some jeans there! But often the white jeans are tough to find...especially a pair in good shape. Not a bad idea, Robert. If you are pulling my leg, I hope it isn't bell-bottomed!

Don't know if you have it in the States but there are stores here called Value Village and you can get some very nice clothes in there, just like new and cheap. They would have bell- bottoms. And they do have white jeans, that I know for sure and lot's of them

I don't normally shop at thrift stores, although I do have some very good jackets from there. I did see white straight leg jeans at Penneys over the weekend on sale. They were St. John's Bay and about $17, I think. I also saw some at Walmart (Lee's, I think.) They were a little more than the Penneys ones. I usually shop sales and clearance racks at Penney's, Sears, and Christopher and Banks. Burlington usually has good prices too.

I stopped wearing jeans('cept for my one pair of 501,button fronts)years ago. Now I just wear skirts, loose fitting and cool in the summer, and big enough to wear a heavy slip under in the winter.

You should try the mid risers. They aren't as low as the "low riders". I have several pair and love them!

There are different rises on jeans, you just have to find the style you are comfortable in wearing.

I still am a firm believer in a skirt. I do house work in them, I do gardening in them(unless I want to work on the tan, at which time I wear clothes that I will not leave the house in) and they make me feel sexybigsmile bigsmile   devil devil bigsmile bigsmile!!!!!!!!!
