and once when we were trying to break the Guiness Book of World Records for hopscotching when I was in jr. high, we hopscotched for over 70 hours between 4 of us

In my car one nite. Couldn't get a hotel room on a road trip everything was booked. It was pretty terrible.

I have slept on the street a few times while attempting escape from a very bad relationship. I had to hide, but I loved the solitude. It was cold, but I had peace.
Eventually, I had to return.

I am glad I dont have to deal with that anymore.

In a way yes. A couple of years ago, I was in Germany with a Catholic Youth Group for a couple of weeks for World Youth Day in Cologne. Well one night we were out late in the city, and everyone decided to call it an evening and head on home for the night, that is except for a myself and 3 other guys. We stayed back, as we wanted to walk across the bridge and see the Rhine River all lit up at night. It was around 11:30 or at so this time.

Once we had done that, we set out to find a train to take us back to where we were staying. It wasn't that easy though, as we found the one train we had intended on taking back wasn't working. So we tried to find another one, which took a bit of time also. Finally we find one, and we figured we would be out of the city soon. But there was a small problem, we had misread the train schedule, and as it turned out we missed the train, which also happened to be the last train for the night, till 6:30 in the morning!

So we were pretty much stuck in the city all night, nowhere to go, no idea where we were going to sleep, etc. We walked around some, before being informed that there was a building nearby that was providing a place to sleep for a whole bunch of people who were in town for this big event.

So after sitting outside for a while, waiting around to get in (was kind of a long process), we were finally let in the building around 3 or 3:30am. The building was basically a big parking garage, and we slept on the cold hard floor. There were no pillows or blankets or anything, just our backpacks we had came in with.

We got about 2 hours of sleep in this environment, before we had to leave and head back towards the train station to catch the early train out of town. By the time we got home, it was 7am, and it was time to start a new day. The one guy who had been with us, actually decided to go to bed (lucky SOB lol), and joined up with everyone else later. I chose not to though, and just sort of sucked it up lol.

It was some kind of experience, and made for a great story later. I'll always be able to say, I experienced Germany, albeit in a rather unique way.
