All these organizations go into areas hit by war, disaster etc. But then I suppose they don't count because they aren't in the States. OOPS!!! MSF was at Katrina. OOPS!!! Red Cross was at Katrina and other places State side. OOPS!!! C.A.R.E. also operates State side. and I'm sure I forgot some. YOU DEFINITELY FORGOT A LOT. My son is a VOLUNTEER firefighter and a professional EMT. MY SON DOES THIS AS HIS WAY OF SERVING THE LORD, SO YOU SEE, HOW IT ALL TRANSFERS BACK TO GOD. And, it is with dismay that my son tells me he comes across people every day that are EXACTLY like the people mentioned in the E-mail. He has told me that his fellow firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics and the like, simply ignore the hatred and go about doing their work for the Lord. It would be wonderful for people from outside of the USA to stop the hatred towards American citizens and give us our due respect for our beliefs. My son is a devout Christian, yet he would lay down his life to save you, a pagan. Lindyy 
I'm sorry, but are you saying that as a Christian your son is somehow better than that of another faith? Where in the heck did you grab that idea from? I just read it twice. I don't see her saying that. "My son is a devout Christian, yet he would lay down his life to save you, a pagan." I'm sorry, perhaps you see that comment as being less degrading? Maybe if it hit a more mainstream religion perhaps Catholicism? |

I said, there might be implications, but its not absolutely blatant. And, why would not a Christian think their faith is better than any other? She doesn't say, my faith is better, you are not of my faith so you are pure evil or burn in hell. |

I haven't seen her online lately, Fear & loathing...
she may be at work still....  or with grandkids perhaps
i sent her a message that she is wanted in this thread...

I made a SIMPLE, EVER SO SIMPLE statement of fact that my son, a devout Christian would lay down his life for a pagan. THUS people, showing that my Christian faith and my son's Christian faith and his dedicating his working for the Lord is for EVERYONE. EVERYONE , PEOPLE, EVERYONE. Regardless of what or who they are. To my son and his peers, they are people in dire need of help, and this he has dedicated his life to doing in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Do you want me to start naming the incidents where my son truly risked his life for someone else? They are too numerous to mention. AND, I would not dishonor my son by doing so for he does it out of love for humanity!

This has nothing to do with your son, don't bring him into this to back yourself. This is about your comment, "My son is a devout Christian, yet he would lay down his life to save you, a pagan." I don't follow a deity, nor am I Pagan...the comment just seems like your putting Christians higher than that of another religion. |

People draw lines in the sand to show their superiority, and then don't even realize they do it. They live their lives so sheltered and in fear of the unknown, they never truely get to live it.
That is what is sad about those comments. They don't even know the joys they are missing in life. |

Hi Rapunzel, While I do agree that there are some things said that are uncalled for and should not be said to other people on here. That is not always the case. When a controvertial post like this is put up of course there are going to be people who agree with it and people who think that it is complete nonsense. Although this is an open forum for discussion and it should not have out right fighting like you say. Although I have read the posts in here that you are referring to as arguing and bickering and all that most of the people are doing is offering their opinion as to why this letter is bad. You are never going to be able to make a post like this where everyone agrees with you and will just accept being told this is what I believe so you shouldn't argue with it. If that is what you are looking for you are posting in the wrong forums. I apologize if that seems harsh but that is the way it is unfortunately. I think that everyone here will agree that in the USA we have the First Amendment which grants us the Freedom of Religion and the Freedom of Speech.
The E-mail that I responded to by the OP has been around quite a bit. It was originated by citizens in the USA who are very fed up with our country being put down, criticized, the whole 9 yards of hatred, and we are voicing our opinion of how we feel. Which is our right.
Criticizing our God was totally uncalled for,very hateful, and totally disrespectful, especially since none of the remarks from fellow Christians such as myself were directed to anyone other than the OP. Christians have the Holy Spirit, who was given to us by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ when he ascended back to Heaven. The Holy Spirit is the Christian's Helper, Guide, Comforter and He intercedes in prayer for us. Again, I truly felt God, through His Holy Spirit guided the OP to post this thread. There are words and information that needed to be verbaly and/or written for others to see and contemplate. In other words, the United States is in dire need of strong Christian Prayer. We have not knocked you or whatever it is that you believe in, the same respect is expected from you according to forum guidelines. Lindyy PTL I'm not the one who brought up god. Also even though I'm a lowly Pagan I have taken risks for people on the job. I never seem to find it necessary to ask their religious beliefs. It goes with the job. Getting back to the original message. What happened to the Geneva Conventions. Hatred of a people is now acceptable because of a few? Hatred of a religion is now acceptable because of a few? Intolerance is now the norm? I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.
Yes this is a terrible thing. These are things which should be tolerated. Yet these are the things which are shown to public. There are atrocities committed by the "good guys" that are sent back to page 52 between car ads though. Doesn't matter who commits the atrocity / crime. It's not right!!!!!! |

Amen Mirror, Amen... WWJD??? Would he torture? Would he kill? Not the one I have read about, he was a loving human... not a cruel one. he taught to give kindness even if it meant sacrificing himself....
