Topic: It Won't Be The Same | |
---|---|
I wrote this last night, after discovering a colleague of mine just passed away this past Monday, while on vacation. He was like a mentor, a father, a friend and someone who could make you laugh. This is in honor of him.
It Won't Be The Same It won't be the same Comin' in sayin, "Morning, Mr D., When he won't be here For any of us to see. His spirit will ring loud Comrades and inmates the same, Just to hear 5-54 to control Or even hear his name. Thank you God For putting his soul at rest, For the lives he's touched And the ones he has blessed. Mr Davis or Mr D. Call him what you will, His memory will live on In the hearts of us still. |

Tear
Another tear, reflects heart's pool, Filled and waiting, healing. A memory is painting clear, Of love once vital, beating. A drift upon this sandy shore, Where shards of life reveal, Many added to our hearts, A weight in gold, so real. A mist, a memory, we clutch, An open hand from heart. We say so long, For once again, Our love has taken flight. Raine Les 5/29/2008 |

It is a distance one cannot truly understand and reason. This has been a difficult month for many of us here. I appreciate most how you open a heart, a simple turn of the heart. Thanks, always for your care, here. s |

Thank you all for your warm wishes and prayers. He did mean alot to us all. What made me feel good this evening was at the visitation, the preacher that will be doing the service tomorrow at the funeral, read my poem and said he would like to read it and said it was befitting and beautifully written. He asked if he could have my permission to read it and I was more than pleased.
Thank you Marc, Max, Angel, Shari for that dear poem of yours, Dee and Vicki. Love you all and a handshake to you guys. |
