I agree with Apasserby about this, because I see the other side of this theory so it makes sense to me. I love to watch people in love because it reminds me of the wonderful times I've had in my past. I have not really had a bad ending relationship, but can see how others happiness might conjure resentments in those who have. I think it's very sad...love is a beautiful thing to behold...even when you're not the one beholding it.  Hmm...they always say that love/beauty is in the holder of the behind. Or something like that, hehe.

My niece once said that she disliked that bumper sticker
"Mean People Suck". She said, "mean people don't suck...they're just HURT"!  GULP....I'm not sure I've ever been so proud, touched, and enlightened at the same time.

In order to find the "love" that we are looking for, we have to let go of anger, resentment, and bitterness. I think you can't truely love while holding on to those negatives feelings.

I know that after being hurt it takes some time to be ok around others who are in love but I've never resented them. Maybe a little envy but never resentment. Took some time for me but I love seeing people in love. Makes me smile

 I put off that rough and tumble tomboy attitude ( and I sure can be rough and tumble ) But I am just a romantic little girly, waiting for some charming fella to do some sweeping

If I start from the perspective of, "What's in it for me", I've lost already. Bitterness of love not being received is actually caused by love not being given, freely.
