Because, inside the obscenity that was Charlie Black's comment about how a terrorist attack in this country would be good - good for his boy McCain's chances for election...Inside the inhuman calculation that Benazhir Bhutto did not die in vain - she helped McCain in the New Hampshire primary...There is a sad and cynical reality.

The Republicans can scare some of the people all of the time, and they can scare all of the people some of the time.

This is all they are right now.

Nobody ever said it better than did Aaron Sorkin in his script for the movie "The American President":

"Whatever your particular problem is, friend, I promise you, Bob Rumson (and for Bob Rumson, read "John McCain") is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and two things only: Making you afraid of it, and telling you who's to blame for it."

Republicans, with almost no exceptions, have no true credibility on counter-terrorism, no track record of prevention or amelioration, and their president can't even remember the name of the skyscraper he claims to have saved in Los Angeles.

And yet, somehow, the Republicans have managed to convince the public that it doesn't matter that Mr. Bush had already completed 22 percent of his first term, when he, his administration, and his party, failed so catastrophically on 9/11.

The President and party who were at fault, were magically transformed into the President and party who would never let it happen again.

An unjust... repellant... nefarious, trick. But, politically, rather a neat trick.

I don't think I have ever heard words more true. How could the American people be so mislead?

You say, so what it is done now, but what have we learned? We learned that a person in power can scare us into believing that we need to attack a country that had nothing to do with the attacks on our ground. We learned that a person in power can scare us into believing that a war thousands of miles away will stop a terrorist attack here. We learned that a person in power will misuse the power given when the people are scared to commit crimes against said scared citizens and torture people at will. We learned that if the citizens do not PAY ATTENTION to the misinformation given, we will lose our sons and daughters in unjust and illegal war. We learned that without diligence to what the heck is going on we will be immeshed in a civil war in a country that has not asked for our help and noone has the balls to quit before thousands more die in a useless venture (unless you are in oil, then it is not so useless). The lessons are there to learn if one only opens their eyes to what has happened so IT CAN NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.

Ever notice how the Fox network is slanted towards the Republicans. Well, MSNBC is just as slanted towards the Democrats.

When will we ever have an network for us Independents who are sick and tired of listening to all the mindless drivel the Republicrats continually spout out?

My comparison? Fox = Tass and MSNBC = PRAVDA

Who watches/listens to Keith Oberman? I tried watching his cable show about a half dozen times, but all he does is cut up Bill O'Reilly from FOX. What is the deal there? Did O'Reilly steal Oberman's job or what?

The one good thing that came out of 911 was there was no more "them & us." somehow when people are faced with something so enormous it resets the priority. People forgot. It seems the only ones who want to bring that back division are the DEMS. Sad...

Ive watched Countdown since the day it came out. I think Keith is talented and I enjoy his Oddball segment. He is a lefty like me but he doesnt trash people that disagree with him like Bill-O does. Bill O'Reilly has a filthy mouth.
