Claim: Kids who say 'yuck' may be racist

Jul 7 12:42 PM US/Eastern

LONDON, July 7 (UPI) -- Toddlers who say "yuck" when given flavorful foreign food may be exhibiting racist behavior, a British government-sponsored organization says.

The London-based National Children's Bureau released a 366-page guide counseling adults on recognizing racist behavior in young children, The Telegraph reported Monday.

The guide, titled Young Children and Racial Justice, warns adults that babies must also be included in the effort to eliminate racism because they have the ability to "recognize different people in their lives."

The bureau says to be aware of children who "react negatively to a culinary tradition other than their own by saying 'yuck'."

"Racist incidents among children in early years settings tend to be around name-calling, casual thoughtless comments and peer group relationships," the guide says.

Staff members are advised not to ignore racist actions and to condemn them when they occur.

Oh, give me a break. That is just a matter of a child not liking a flavor. It has nothing to do with race or ethic diversity. It has everything to do with an unaccustomed flavor in the mouth. It doesn't matter if the food came from the same culture, if the child never had it, more often than not, Yucky, is the first reaction.

A good parent instills intellectual conversation with her/his child/children. A good parent constantly oversees the childs actions, behavior. In other words, good parents keep in touch with his/her child/children's everyday activity and keeps alert on any "red flags" so they can address the issue with the child. A good parent sits down and talks with their children, teaches them moral values and gives good guidance to the child's everyday life. A good parent sets an example that is far more influential on that child's life than anything else going on in this world. "A fallen apple does not stray too far away from the tree."

In other words, life is what you make it and what you make it for your children. I happen to love my country and my community. You can have a positive attitude with your children or a negative one. You can cheer on or you can belittle down.

I prefer the positive over the negative.

That is almost as stupid as what they did last Christmas. Santa was forbidden to say ho! ho! He had to say ha! ha! The reasoning was that ho! ho! is too close to the rap word of hoe, which means whore. If Santa said ho! ho! and a woman passed by she might think Santa was calling her the nickname for whore.

I see this crap in the military all the time, i'm been called a racist myself for stupid sh!t like this(although not quite as stupid) They need to quit spending money on these studies to find out 'whats wrong' and start spending money to fix crap that they already know what is wrong i.e..Homeless, poverty, after school programs.....the list goes on and on and on..
