...you lost the ability to diistort the truth or just flat out lie? We all have at one time or another so don't deny it. We tend to rationalize why we did, but... Let's say someone asks you what you think of her new hairdo. And you tell the truth and say," Why it looks like a raccoon that had just been pulled from a blender set to frappe."

I think there would be a lot of hurt feelings in this world.

But, you must be truthful. At the very best you say that you didn't like it.

If I couldn't sugar coat things, they still wouldn't be too bad. I don't think mean thoughts about what I don't like. I might have to say that hairstyle makes your face look chubby. But I might already say it makes your cheeks look too full anyway. Depends on who I'm talking to.

Why is it a lie to say I liked it better before, or it's just not as flattering as it could be, or even, my mom told me not to say anything if I had nothing nice to say (joking).....

Telling a lie I don't do
However bending the truth somewhat we all do. The art is not to cross the line. That is not an easy thing to learn.

I use a nose-o-meter after each statement to see how I didlaugh

If it's shorter, I'd say, "That'll be nice and cool for the summer"

If it is permed, no matter how bad a job was done, "I'd say, "Yeah, I think the curly look is coming back in style", or "That will be a lot easier to take care of."

You can side-step and still tell the truth...

If I "...you lost the ability to distort the truth or just flat out lie? "

Then I think there would be a lot of hurt feelings. Not that I'm mean but there's just some things that would hurt a couple of people I know.
