Hi Queen, I have an uncle whose breath was so bad his wife stopped
sleeping in the same room with him. He told his doctor and there really
is a cause. This was several years ago, but I remember it had something
to do with his saliva and digestion. He had to take a pill, but it
seemed to solve the problem Anyway, the thing is, you should say
something. If not a friend who? And if a friend does it, it might make
her find out if there is a problem.

What kind of volunteer were you looking for? Someone to call her and
tell her? Someone to email her?

Personally, i agree with the others, just tell her, its no big deal.
You don't have to be all dramatic about it, just very short and simple
and matter of fact.

But, if you are trying to get a message to her without risking your
friendship, you can send her an anonymous email: google "anonymous
email" and you'll find sites.

Hello Queenbee,I heard or read somewheres before, that this could be a
medical problem, something to do with the stomach. I wish I would have
paid more attention, I can't really remember what it said, eccept
something to do with the stomach. Still... how do you tell her about it
in a nice way? That's a tough one. Good Luck

It could be colon cleanser required or several things. But it could
simply be her gums. Or gum trouble. Acid or something builds up in the
gums and starts to form something there and between the teeth. So since
soda neutralizes acid, she must use a toothpaste with bicarbonate of
soda and then mix some of the toothpaste (like the toothbrush
length)with warm water and keep it in her mouth for about ten minutes.
Or mix about 1/4 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to a potspoon of warm
water with 2 drops of peppermint oil, and do the same. Do not let it go
down to and soak the back of her throat. It will interfere with her
pallette. Then do not eat or drink between meals except water. She must
floss first, then brush teeth. She might also need gum cleaning from a
Dentist. How will she get this advice? Follow the advice from
Tneal,Redykeulous, and Massagetrade. If she has diabetes, her mouth will
have an odour too when the blood-sugar is high. And she must not suck
anything looking like a 6 or a 9, especially if they are together. And
she will have no problems with bad breath!!

If you eagerly offer her gum the moment she opens her mouth she'll get
the message, believe me.

Even if she declines the gum offer, offer again about one hour later.
Repeat. Repeat until she asks if she has 'bad breath or something' with
a great big laugh. Time to tell her then.

I refused to date three guys in the past three years because they had
bad breath and I'm sure they are still wondering what's wrong with them.
And I'm not talking about the occasional garlic breath. I wish they had
a friend like you to tell them!! It certainly wasn't up to me, almost a
stranger, to tell them, 'well, listen, it's your breath ...'

embarassed

Hygiene and having one's gums checked is an absolute must. Then come
stomach problems possibilities.

Good luck!

Best thing to do is take her aside with no one else near and explain it
to her,,if she is a true friend she will apreciate it,,if she gets mad
and don't want to be your friend after being honest with her,,then she
was never a true friend in the first place, I would rather have a buddy
take me aside and say Dude you need to brush them teeth, than have a
stranger walk up to me and say that.

To me that is what friends are for, to help us past our faults, and if
it is a persistent problem she may need to speak to her dentist

You could send her a polite email saying I'm your friend and as a friend
I would hope that you would tell me if there was something about me that
bothered others that I didn't notice, so as a friend I'm going to tell
you ...... that way if her feelings are hurt - it wasn't a personal,
face to face thing. She can choose to avoid you in the future if it
makes her mad till she gets over it and when you do see her you don't
even have to ever bring it up again.

Thank you for this topic. I know a very pretty girl who has the same
problem. I have not thought of a way to say anything to her. But after
reading all the advice, probably being honest is the best way to go.

Offer a tic tac.

OR - - hint that you want gum... maybe they would want some, as well.
