....as a child. Did you eat meals together in your family?? My folks always told us, "go outside and play"-- we did not get to play indoors ever. What family traditions do you remember?? Good or not so good??--

we ate together and then my mom would lock us out for the day to play in the streets...but we always had fun

On my dad's side, card games. Anytime there's a gathering of people, generally there's going to be some card playing of some sort lol.

By 5pm we had our hands & faces washed & were waiting to be called to dinner. No one picked up a fork until my mother was sitting at the table.

people no longer eat dinner together??? It's not uncommon these days for various reasons, maybe people aren't home or something or eating at the same time. Here often times, we'll often eat dinner while watching TV too sad to say, and at different times a lot of the time. |

every now and then we'd have a "___ family dinner night" which meant that we'd have a bad for you snack/junk food/ice cream dinner. It was amazing when it happened!

We all eat as a family, still do. I always went to a friends house an played all day, came home at 6 for dinner then got on the computer

we always ate meals together. that was when we all caught up on what everyone was doing.
my son and I still have our meal togetether before he goes his way & I go mine

One of my favorites was our yearly visit to Indiana to see my Granny. And she would always give us money for the ice cream truck.

On my parent's dairy farm, if you didn't join the family for meals at the dinner table, you didn't eat!

Getting called from the porch to get my butt home, and usually had a friend or two in tow. Mom was a fantastic cook, but never cooked anything hot(spicy). I still am working up my tolerance.
We never, ever ate with the tv on. |
