Last week, Texas, executed two men by lethal injection.

Do you feel lethal injection is too easy? I do. Give em the electric chair or the gas chamber.

It is sad that a human becomes savage and ends up killed by a court of law . Why do not people just live a normal life....?.

not sure abolish is correct but does need to be very controlled

and rarely used

like must be caught in the act

and no circumstantial case should be a death penalty option

murder and child rape should be possible death penalty cases

if caught in the act

I knew a guy that sat on death row for 7 years for a murder he did not commit.

After 7 long years, they found some DNA and cleared him. If he was in Texas, they would have executed him.

I studied his case and new the crime lab staff that cleared him.

Our courts are totally effed up!

This could happen to anyone.

Even you.

Agreed. In some countries where we have bases, they still have public hangings. Do that here and people will stop to think about the deed they are about to commit. As for the inhuman thing, who gives a sh#t, thwy die within seconds so that any pain they feel is well deserved. They did,'t care about the pain they caused doing the crime........

You Can't go Wrong with DNA. I'm Sure even Texas uses DNA. if Your DNA Matches the DNA on the Victim Give em' the Brass Bull.

Thank you. Just saying what other countries do. It works for them, so I don't see why it wouldn't work here.

There are many people on Death Row that there may have been NO DNA eveidence found at the crime scene.

In the case I was referring to, the crime lab looked back at some evidence and by LUCK, found a strand of DNA that was not the victims. And it did not match the DNA of the person that they had convicted and sentenced to DEATH!

This is why I also do not believe in the death penalty. It took my years to decide, but killing an innocent person is not amn acceptable mistake. Life in prison with death only if the prisoner chooses & he pushes the button himself.

Um... Death penality.

If you guilty you get punished.

I think it should fit the crime.

i.e if you beat someone to death. That should be your punishment. If you started a fire that burned someone to death that should be how you are excuted.

Very few of those that have commited delibrate murder can truthfully claim they did not know the difference of right from wrong.

We... As a society have the right to exact swift punishment to protect our community from predators.

Yeah Texas has it right....*cough*

Texas where they executed someone who's attorney slept through his clients murder trial, where they have executed people with i.q.'s so low they were incapable of forming intent and those are just two examples of the joke they call a justice system in Texas.

I am pro death penalty but I am aghast at the sorry state of justice in the state of Texas and other states.

Given the right set of circumstances any one of you reading this could find yourself accused of murder. Unless you have considerable assets you would then likely find yourself with a court appointed attorney who, it's also likely had very little experience in criminal defense let alone capital cases.

Now, for those people who say, mistakes happen but that's the price you pay are forgetting something important. The real murderer is still out there ready to do it again. Justice and the safety of the general law abiding public demand we get it right, that trials are conducted fairly and that the true offender is brought to justice.

No kiddingnoway I cannot believe that a society as supposedly intelligent as we are suppose to be still utilizes neandrathal methods of punishment. We should be smarter than that here in this country. sheeshnoway
