"Proposed law would fine people for walking while texting, in Illinois."

Under the proposed law, Illinois residents would get slapped with a misdemeanor and a $25 fine if caught using a cell phone or other wireless device while traversing streets.

OMG someone needs to get these people out office here... they are paying WAAAAY to much attention to what we're doing. I can see why you shouldn't text while driving, but WALKING??? Are they gonna throw in jail for chewing gum and walking at the same time too?

texting is no different just looking at the buildings as you walk by or talking to your friend you're walking with. I mean when do they stop slapping us with laws?

Unbelieveable, cops worry more about creating more crime, then stopping that crime which already exists!

When we're fully under control, which is fast happening.

these laws are getting beyond preposterous - what next will they try and limit our personal hygiene? Are we about to be cited/ticketed for writing with our right/left hands instead of vice versa? Parting our hair a certain way?

While all it takes is one moron to walk while texting, not paying attention while crossing the street, to get hit by a car for all the bleeding hearts to blame the car and driver instead of the moron who didnt look up...

I know, and then you have cops that will try and set up crime. Like my friend was telling me, these cops had a topless woman approach a guy in a secluded area (or so he thought) to solicit him. Of course he took the bait and got busted. How stupid!!!

Most cops get a bad rap and the others earn it. (just kidding)

Police officers are not the problem, they are just employees the problem lay with the lawmakers not enforcers. jmo

cops do not make law they enforce law

legislators make law

and if they make enough laws then the cops can go after the person that is truly a law biding person cause the real criminal will shoot back if need be

This is like the laws the EPA wants to make in NJ...fining people who wash their vehicles in their driveways & forcing people to use car washes. I think it's called creative taxation. DUH! LOL

Watch out if the local & state govts. start buying abandoned car washes. laugh
