Umm yeah... it should be completely obvious why he'd want to keep you around. A free cookie on the side, whenever he wants one, is what a great deal of men want. The better question is, why are you allowing him to degrade your worth by sticking around?

because eventhough circumstances dictate that you can`t be together,.he doesn`t want to loose you,..

maybe he feels more strongly about your relationship and is testing the waters to see just how strong,..

Those who have once been intimate, and are able to maintain sight of why they became friends in the first place........
.....usually are such valuable friends to have.

The special insight gained is so valuable when seeking advice. Quirks are known, there's minimal editing, and "BS" will be called when necessary like a true friend should.

A few of my exes are incredible confidants whom "I" would HATE to talk less frequently to.

Yep excellent perspective. But usually the intimacy side gone bad messes up the friendship.
So you are rare my friend .. flowers

It is hard when a friendship doesn't stay friendly. It's even harder when the twoo f you obviously have different levels of emotions. He doesn't want you, but hedoesn't want anyone else to have you either.....

Hmmm. That is abusive and controlling behavior, any way you slice it. I say kudos for seeing it for what it is and walking away.

Stay strong and love yourself enough to tell him no. You are worth it.
