i actually got into a confrontation with one such moron not too long ago. the dirtbag tried to shove me off to the side so he could exit the store we had been shopping at (fry's electronics in burbank, california), and he got all 'gangsta' on me when he found that his scrawny-no muscle havin'-hundred and twenty pound ass couldn't come close to moving me out of the way.

he did a lot of posturing, a lot of what i call the 'gangsta dance' (where they stiffen up a leg an shuffle around in front of you while having their fold arms out like they're in a bad defensive boxing position). and yes- the kid looked more like he'd be at home playing the playstation 3 his parents in the uber-rich part of town bought him than in "tha' hood".

and then he tried to throw a punch which was the worst mistake he coulda made. that goes especially for the fact he was messing with a person who weighed almost twice as much (and was almost twice as tall) as him, too.

a quick leg-sweep and he was on the ground, crying for his mommy. he went down quicker than monica lewinsky on bill clinton. it was funny.
in the fetal position crying like a sissy girltears

and that whole "hung low" look got its start in prison, BTW-

from what i heard, the shorter inmates had to make due with 'one-size-fits-all' prison garb, which obviously looked baggy on them. instead of spending all that time in sewing class (at taxpayer expense, no less), they decided to start what is now considered hip-hop chic.

so you essentially have geeky white kids trying to dress up like they spent time in prison, if you can believe that crap.

Here where I live we have the right to express ourselves but we also have 'indecent exposure'.
We finally went to uniforms in public schools to avoid this type of dress within the school system...wonderful idea in my opinion. What gets me is seeing the guys walking with their legs spread trying to hold the pants up
laugh I get a good laugh out of that myself, still think the guy that came up with plaid skirts and knee socks for the girls was a pedophile thoughlaugh

I was expecting you to say something like this dude. But see, you got personality and you seem to respect peeps. Most "thug wannabes" and all don't do either. That's my gripe.

And I know the whole look got started in prison, but it has grown leaps and bounds lately in popularity.

Well my teenager years were the mid 90's we aqua netted our hair so much we killed the ozone layer. I would take new jeans and use the shot gun on them to make them look cool. Let not forget Hammer pants and leg warmers. I listened to Shout at the Devil and I was to legit to quit. But we all grow up and become something so quit hatting and let them have there thug look.

i remember with that whole john hughes-pretty-in-pink look (fedora, white t-shirt with vest, pleated pants, and wingtip shoes) was what most people considered "hardcore" back then. it was such a funny look that it was even spoofed on "not another teen movie"... they also got molly ringwald to do a cameo on that flick, too.

i'll tell you this, though- i'd rather dress up like a rejected-extra from 'ferris bueler's day off' than a wannabe thug/felon/rapper any day of the week.
