I enjoy going out every week to do karaoke where I do a Lennon/McCartney impression and usually do :All you need is love-Hey Jude-Strawberry fields-Ticket to ride. I am not saying I am the best but I truly do a good job. What I wish is that the crowd would be honest and either clap or boo someone who really sucks! I can appreciate someone who honestly tries to do the best they can and entertain the audience as I clap and say "good job", but I've seen too many losers who are no talent wastes of space go up and take 4 or 5 minutes just to slaughter a great song as they truly have no intention of singing, just making an ass of themselves and trying to get laughs from their buddies. I used to go to a club where all was great untill the drunken dumb ass showed up and did the 8 minute song "I'm an asshole". This poor ignorant hick yelled top of his lungs while the rest of us endured the torture. After putting with this crap for weeks I decided to slip the karaoke dj 10 bucks to to say the cd was lost. He never came back and took his sorry ass to another club to put those poor souls through torment! Let's not cheer the no talent jerks on, tell them if they suck as if they were on american idol! If they are good cheer them on!! Be honest. Don't encourage the morons .

Have fun but if you are one of those morons who just wants to be pathetic and waste everyones time with foolishness, DONT DO IT.There should be 2 karaoke areas in each club: One for the drunken fools who slosh around and have no business attempting to sing and the other where people really want to entertain and be entertained by some talent! There should be a screener at every door weeding out the hacks from the gifted ones!

Karaoke is supposed to be fun and for EVERYONE. If you want a talent contest, then you can find those to go to.

I cant sing, nowhere close, but i have still sang karaoke and entertained people and gotten good reactions.

Well..here's a thought for you....just having enough courage to GET UP THERE ( even if it IS only to make an ass out of yourself ) is a lot better than being the one who sits there and complains about the bad singers.

I was a DJ/karaoke host for ten years or so, and I have heard the good, the bad, and the truly ugly singers. You know that ugly ones. They are the ones who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

Thing is, people are out to have a good time. Just because their version of having fun doesn't mesh with yours doesn't mean that they shouldn't be allowed to do it.

Look around for another place to sing, or just open your own bar.

Just stop pissing and moaning about people having a good time. Everyone is entitled.

Funny thing is...a LOT of the REALLY bad singers I have heard say the same thing.
