One good advantage about meeting people online is the fact I believe people are more relaxed and more open to asking questions they wouldn't feel comfortable with asking in person. Basically you get the "computer courage".

And chances are.. if the person is going to lie online.. they'll lie in person too!

Every guy I ever met from online was a liar.

my only problem with online is al the great guys live so far away and after three failed ldr i wont do another.

the dating scene sucks all together. but OH well.

Agreed! I live in Spokane but I should probably live in Portland or Seattle.

Pffft.

Also, all the liars. It's so easy to lie about who you are and what you want online. It's a perfect brick wall to smash your head into over and over and over again. frustrated

Met someone wonderful but the reality of it is that it would never work out, but we stay friends and I don't think he even knows how I feel. But I enjoy the time we get to spend together online and on the phone, even if it is infrequent at the current time. I think that I have made the best friends of my life online and I love all my computer cuz all my friends live in it.

Since im not looking for anything other than friendship at this time in my life, it works pretty good for me.....sites like this. If someone doesn't answer my emails, then I move on. It's simple. Now if I WERE trying to hook up a date....YIKES! lmao!

I think sometimes people TRY TOO HARD. just relax! if you make a good friend, then that itself may blossum into something wonderful!

See what watching DR Phil does? j/k

I do agree .. I'm in Colorado and dated guys in Boston, NYC and Chicago. 400 miles is NOTHING .. really.

Well I personally think it is what you put in it. Yea your are going to get the jerks, stalkers but that happens in the real world. This is almost safer. I dont go to bars.. The library closes at 5 and I have issues paying 6 dollars for coffee.

I just have to remember that if you dont try you are going to fail anyway. So I talk to those who take a step and talk back or start talking. I know that they are just trying and thats always a good step.

Anyway I hope you all find what your looking for either here or out there.

I have done the online dating thing for longer than I would like to admit. I am a busy professional so it is a venue by which I at least have a CHANCE to meet someone.

The #1 thing I learned a loooonnnngggg time ago was that you MUST have a sense of humor. The 2nd,,, avoid unrealistic expectations. The internet is not a venue by which to develop a relationship, it is a venue by which to meet potential lifemates. Don't try to form the relationship before you ever meet.

Online Sites gives me the opportunity to meet someone I wouldn't otherwise meet....

No expectations helps....sense of humor too....and just be yourself, relax and have fun.....
