hello everyone when i was 18 i was in a bad accident that left me
parylized from the neck down i try to stay strong n positive but some of
the ppl around me bring me down n i was just lookin for some positive
advice and wondering if neone new any resources or nething that would
help some one like me thanks for takin the time to read

Just be yourself. Sound yourself with positive people. Joining this site

but still if you come across harsh and abrupt.. ppl are not going to be
helpful..

if u dont then @$%^ you, cause at the end of the day u have to acount an
answer for what youve done, ly awake or sleep onit...what they eat dont

First welcome to the site. It seems to me your a very
strong person it takes alot to move forward after a serious accident. My
self I have never had to deal with that type of situation. I admire
those that pick up there lives and moves on and makes the best of it.
For no matter what condition it left there bodys in there minds and
hearts do surely shine through. So just treat others the way you would
like to be treated and they will or should treat you the same way. Best
of luck in the future and hope you enjoy this site really is an Awesome
place and think you will be able to find alot of good friends here. Ask

I do not post much but had to comment.

Remember that those that bring you down are in need of more help than
you. They are small minded individuals, and it usually keeps them from
finding happiness. You on the other hand sounds like you know youself
and that is the begining. I have read most of the post on this site and
there truely are some amazing individuals on here. I am sure that you
will make a lot of positive friends. Also search the web for different
groups, they are everywhere and I am sure that one of them can give you
every number in your state to call for any help you want. I know a
couple of places in WV that I found for a friend by doing a google
search, serch words suport groups and the state you live in.

Reading this made me think of a dear friend of mine here in Ky. We
actually met over the internet and became really good friends. He was
also in an accident when he was young and has been paralyzed from his
waist down for many years. He gets down sometimes and I try to remind
him of all of his good qualities and everything that he has to
offer...he is an excellent singer. When I first met him in person I was
amazed...he drives...lifts his wheelchair in & out of his backseat and
over his head like it is nobody's business. Many of the things that we
take for granted every day he has to take that extra effort to do...he
never wants anyone to feel sorry for him and I am sure you feel the
same...but I also remind him that it does not hurt for people to help
you when you are doing everything that you can to help yourself...it is
a blessing to those that can offer a helping hand to those in need.
Please never forget that God has a purpose for each of us...if you do
not know yet what His purpose for you is then just seek Him and He will
let you know...My name is Kaffey and I am glad to meet you...:)

Your accident doesn't make you into a different person. You are still
the same quirky soul as you were before the accident.

I've a friend that was in a diving accident and he is paralyzed from the
neck down, has a little use of his hands. He loves to draw. Do not let
life and the insensitive people in it, take away from who you are. Keep
on keeping on!
