How did you pick your child(rens)name? Just because you liked it? Does
it mean something? Was the name passed down from a family member?

My children each got a name passed down from a family member and they
also got a name given to them from their father.

They have beautiful names. My son is Malango Chaiwela. And my daughter
is ViolaMay Welanji.

My daughter’s middle name is from her grandmother on her mom’s side. For
her first name we just couldn’t decide on, besides we choose not to know
the gender until our first one was born. So we chose 3 boys names & 3
girls names. I wrote them on 6 separate pieces of paper and put the 3
girls names in one back pocket and the boys names in the other. After
she was born and the excitement calmed down I reached in my pocket and
pulled out Jessica.

My son’s name picking was not so dramatic cause complications let us
know he was a boy. So we kind of sat around and brainstormed. Their mom
finally let me figure it out and I found two names that sounded western
like, cause he was born in Austin Texas. And that went well together
from a meaning standpoint and I ended up with Garrett Dustin.

How come I always end up writing a book when answering these??? geeezzzz

Pulled my daughter's name out of the TV Guide, Cherilyn (Cher Bono's
full name) and middle name is Denise, just went together nicely.

Daughter was more creative: Madison - first name. Took my parents
middle names and put them together for her 1st middle name - LyleAnne -
and then my middle name for the 2nd middle name - Marie - so ----
Madison LyleAnne Marie.

And: Alejandro Javier - middle name for his dad.

(These are the babies in the pic.)

i had the first two picked out years before i had them...

my best friends growing up were sheryl christine (sherry), nicole fay
(nikki), charissa janice, and katie fay. my mom's name is teresa
(terry). i named my eldest charissa nicole after sherry, nikki,
charissa, and my mom; she was supposed to be called chari (pronounced
sherry), but that didn't happen...so my second one was caitlyn kristene
after katie, sherry, and my sister crystal.

my third was a bit different...i wanted to give her her own name...and i
didn't know what. i picked jordan, and i gave my husband the choice of
nichelle or michelle for middle...and he picked michelle.

my fourth...raegan alise...raegan isn't after anyone, either, but alise
is after my best adult friend alicia.

i made certain to spell them all differently...to give them a name
that's NOT in the family...to call their own.

I did not have anything to do with my sons name. Long story but to make
it short he is not mine by blood but mine at heart and even though we
are seperated she will never remove me from his life and is going to let
me adopt him. Sorry another topic, my daughter was named after a song
that wwe heard on the way to the hospital. The problem was that I did
not have spell check so it came out spelled Ostin. I have yet to hear
some one pronounce it right or figure out that she is a girl. I love the
name and so does she because of the attention she gets.
