Er...

Motorcycles are a bad habit of mine. happy

I rode my motorcycle today. It was low on gas, but I rode it anyway. (hey--that rhymes!)

Love bikes, had many, mostly harley's, sold my last one about 18 years ago. I will have another one someday maybe, but not till my son is old enough to sign his own name. Like most things we really enjoy, they are dangerous.

Oh common now, the amount of energy/gas used by bike's, is miniscual compared to the amount of energy wasted by people who live in bigger homes than they need!

i love making roadkill.

bikes were invented to allow the less wealthy population transportation. bikes are cheaper more reliable fuel efficient. i love motorcycles.

and hippie? why are you complaining of motorcycles wasting gas when your everyday activities are wasting gas. if you want to be a true activist/hippie, live without the luxuries of electricity and hot water. those need gas.

Yes, there are a lot of accidents on motorcycles. However, a good many of those accidents are caused by other drivers who are too selfish to pay attention to those around them. They are too busy talking on the phone or drinking their coffee to watch the road. Of course safety is critical if you plan to ride a bike much, that goes without saying and your odds increase that in an accident you will likely have injuries.

At my place of employment we manufacture motorcycles. In a place that employs over 30,000 people, there are thousands of motorcycle owners who are responsible and DO use their bikes to get to work and back everyday in good weather. They wear helmets and appropriate clothing and they respect the road. Those people also saved a ton of money this summer. And they looked good doing it......

On a personal note, I don't think it's disgusting at all. I understand where your coming from and I am holding off from getting one myself until my kids are older.....but I don't think it's fair to bunch the whole group into one category. Not every bike owner is out to just look cool. That's just a lil perk in my book!

Well, I am doing my part. I walk to work everyday. I havent driven a car in years. I barely use any electricity or gas. I'm hardly at home. When I am home I come on here to talk to friends, or I relax and watch tv. Unfortunatley, the way life is, it's hard to not use some type of gas, but, not driving is a damn good start if I dont say so myself.

I understand about the job situation, but did you know that we are short C.N.A's? I'm 100% positive that if the bike shops went outta business, everyone would be perfectly fine. And I'm not judging one group, but honestly, what kind of people do you see riding? Cheerleaders? Lawyers? Bank manager? I knew one guy my entire life that rode his bike to work, and he owned a shop, and he didnt own a car as well to pollute even more. It was either or for him. Now that was a respectful man.

Ive been riding for 40 years, from mini bikes to dirt bikes to street bikes. Ive been down on the street and in the dirt.
its a choice ,which if i recall,that is a freedom.I know people
from all walks of life that ride.If you dont like motorcycles, thats your choice too, but too call all motorcycle enthusiasts disgusting is just wrong. Next are you gonna say antique car enthusiasts are disgusting too??
