Here is a good question. Way back when in Jesus' day, people were
married and raising kids around 12 and 13 years of age. but then you
gotta remeber that wqe only lived 20 or 30 years on average then. With
this being hte case, why are we so adamant about not allownign our
children to even date until they 1re 16 (on average)? granted we love a
LOT longer now, and that would be one reason, but be that as it may be,
if we followed the same principles as our forefathers did way back then,
then we would know that our children were repsonible and mature enough
to get married wn they wanted to not until a certain date.

well then it was customary and all that like you said, but for today you
also have to take into consideration that there's a lot more going on
too! There's jobs outside the home, school outside the home (schools
that cater to the child therefore teaching them no family related
skills), as well as so many more places to travel (this makes it less
likely that they would give up their freedom). I think when those things
are added into the equation it makes younger people a lot less available
to manage the responsibility of raising a family.

my grandma was married at 14, for the usual reason. she was married for
54 yrs before grandpa died.
if we go way back in the bible, people lived for hundreds of years.
why? we were closer to God at that time than now.
