Same reason women change their outfit on friday night from work to club attire. Its what you are going after and what they are biting on.

What are ya trying to catch? Nothing.....Just curious. My brother tells me that REAL fishermen use worms and my ex used to say the same about lures. But my brother ALWAYS caught more fish. I was just curious.

live bait tends to work better, has a smell that drives the fish nuts, and nothing i know of can move like the real thing. i was raised with a cane pole and crickets or worms. and i can outfish most of my friends

Sometimes the fish are lazy and a lure, perhaps one that spins, might then be the thing to entice them.

i know of some strange things people use for bait,, canned corn, chicken liver, ivory soap,,, yes i said soap,,, bread, butterbeans, it all depends on how you were brought up
