besides they are getting paid to control and limit the criminal activity

inner cities where crime is really bad...i would like to see declaring marshal law in that city...call it what you will but its the governments responsibility to protect its people,rather state,city,or fed. it would save alot of lives cause people will realize what the consequences would be if the city starts up its crime rate again.jmo

Blame Rod Blogojevich, he is as crooked as they come. Crime is everywhere so that stat is kind of useless as other cities will surpass that in less than six months. Good ole Blogojevich keeps screwing this state up, we have some really crooked politics here...but I guess that can go for anywhere there is politics.

It would require more tax monies to pay for more police officers.

The people in the inner cities need a better education. Education is the only way to pull oneself out of that situation. That requires more tax monies.

I live across the river from IL. I do see that their gasoline prices and cigarette prices are higher there then Missouri's.
The food prices are nearly the same.

On the other side of the coin, we have car inspections and they don't. And we have different taxes for working in our city. They have better unemployment benefits.

I am wondering that due to no inspections, etc., if maybe, they pay for things by having higher taxes to make up the difference.
