Why is it when you just say hello to someone, not necessarily in hopes of making a romance, they automatically assume you are attracted to them and want to make a relationship out of it?

I always make it a point that if I view someones profile. that at least I say hello, Its not that I am attrackted to them, I think it's just a very kind gesture of respect they may think wehat are you viewing my page for. I always say hello and have a very pleasant evening.
