Anyone who has ever gone hungry for any amount of time should be able to answer this question with out reservation.

I agree in principle that no one should go hungry but the UN always seems to be setting up some kind of extra territorial government for us does this mean that the UN will be determining where our corn and wheat crops will go? (we export enough to feed about half the rest of the world) |

(we export enough to feed about half the rest of the world) Geez, I can't answer that question, quiet, since I don't really know how that works in the first place. Another thing to learn, this could get tiring, better stock up on coffee. I can't imagine having to endure what some do in countries I have never been to, but I do know what it's like to go hungry for short periods of time, and I know you can't think straight and you don't have the energy to be productive, which to me is what is most important to have a productive society of any kind. But I don't think you would disagree with that point. |

I have been homeless and hungry but I believe the USA feed a lot of Third World Countries poor and we don't need the UN to tell us hunger sucks.I just wish we would focus on our hungry people.It angers me that farmers are payed subsidies not to farm or grow certain things.Lets bring back agriculture and teach our kids to grow food so hunger is a thing of the past.
Much of the causes of hunger overseas is corrupt government officials stealing the supplies.Let the UN address that problem. |

Funny, you can only ride the wave for so long. Young people in other countries are acquiring educations in science, math engineering, communications technology and although some kids here in the US are working hard most sit on their fat asses and assume the American lifestyle will always be there for them. We are set back in research by Luddites and other religious nuts who think research equals evil. Meanwhile the world moves on. We cannot maintain the American standard of living if we do not maintain high educational and scientific standards and if we do not quit bickering amongst ourselves. Reading, questioning, researching...they are not the evil tools of some anti-social liberal America hating bunch they are the tools of greatness. One can look to our history to see that. Here's some news if you haven't already got it. The rest of the world has had a taste of the American dream and they might want it and they might work harder for it than you are will to. |
