some fellow catholics just piss me off.
You see on palm sunday, and easter (last two weeks) sunday my church was
packed, but today my church was half empty. The same happen on
christmas.
And these people are so proud saying I'm a catholic. hoever, they just
go to church once or twice a year
I respect people who don't go to church at all. But those who just show
up for big events are just two-face peoplee.
I rather be in a church with 20 usual goers the whole year, than a
church packed with two-face people once or twice a year.

Got to remember though that alot of people are coming back home for
those holidays, mainly the kids that grew up and moved away. But you are
right that there are alot of people that do only go to church on
holidays. Does that make them a bad Catolic, a bad Christian or is it
just thier way of worshiping?

i dont go to church anymore because i end up seeing people whom i know
aren't following the way..

What way is that? If I walk out into a woods, sit down on a log and say
a prayer or just talk to God am I not following God's way. Getting and
be closer to him, asking for his help. I too stop going to church but
not for what other people have done. But I stopped because I thought God
let me down. I was wrong. I found that God is everywhere. You do not
have to go to a building to find God, you don't even have to be
connected to a religion to know God. Howeveryou do need to go to church
to receive communion. Which I believe that the Catholic faith requires
you to do on Easter. By the way I am Catholic always was and always
will be and I will not condem anyone who only goes to church twice a
year or not at all. "For he who has no sin (faults) cast the first
stone"

catholics suppose to take communion every sunday, not just on easter,
and if they can do it in weekdays it's also good.
Church policy lol

Lonely, it's that way in most churches.

Jeff, isn't church a good place for those people to be.
Maybe the hippocrit will find 'the way'.

I am Catholic, I am not a steady church goer. I don't go to church on
holidays. But every now and then when I am off of work and the feeling
comes over me to hear the words of the lord coming out of another's
mouth, that is when I go. Most of the time I have my daily conversation
with God.

I was raised, it is not how many times you go to church, but what you
actually do that matters and that God is everywhere. I know of many that
are hypocrites that go church every Sunday, then sin all week or turn
their backs on their neighbors.

Does standing in a garage make you a mechanic? nope. Not anymore than
standing in church makes you a christian. I am a Catholic, but I only go
to church at weddings and funerals. Oh sorry, I went last May when my
granddaughter did her first communion. Does that mean I'm two-face?
I say my prayers every night and God and I have our own thing going.

Why, when God is supposed to be everywhere, do you HAVE to go to
church/mosque/temple?

Why cant you commune with your god anywhere?

Never did understand that.

LonleyWalker, take the rituals and the rites of passage out of your
Catholic ethics, are you still Catholic? Would you still be Christian?
Have you ever looked and have you ever found any ritual that you follow,
in the way you were taught to follow, in scripture? Baptism? John
baptized with water, ONLY until the one who would come to baptize
everyone with his blood. So why do good Catholics still do it, was
Jesus not the one foretold of?

You would do well to question your own beliefs and practices before you
question what others are doing in their beliefs.

I'm Catholic. I don't go to church every sunday nor every holiday. Does
that make me two faced or a hypocrite?

There are a 101 reasons why a person doesn't go to church on a regular
basis. It's not very nice to say such things about those who don't or
can't without knowing them or the reasons. And, just because they don't,
doesn't mean they are any less of the faith. Churches are filled with
hypocrites and sinners every sunday and holiday, so they are more of the
faith than I and you'd rather sit with them?

Well, I must say I agree with Jane.

I have not been to church in years, for my own reasons. I don't feel
that makes me any less faithful than someone who attends church every
sunday, and holidays.

There is a quote in the bible. It says,"Judge not, lest you be judged."
Everyone should live by these words...

Very true shenadra...

Sorry if I sounded cranky. Having lost my way, finding my way again,
plus a number of other obstacles in my life, it sure isn't comforting to
know another could think less of me should I not be able to sit in a
church to show/prove I have the faith.

Peace flowerforyou

The biggest man i ever seen stood only 4'7" tall

No matter where he was if he felt the need to pray he did so on the spot

I seen people make fun of him because he did

Then there is people like sister bertha better then you {you know the
type} says that needs to be done in God's house not out here

You don't know how many people i have hit because of him

I guess i still got a little of the devil in me still left

I was out surfing with my buddies Jeff and Lee.
They are both Philadelphia transplants from
big Catholic families. Lee is a bit more, well
let's say devout (to the point of being a
"thumper").

Lee was giving Jeff grief for inconsistently
going to Mass. Jeff raised up his hands (palms
up), gave the sky a "look at this magnificence"
scan and said, "Lee, God makes me nervous when
you get him indoors."

I literally fell off my board laughing.

I've seen too many people go to church every Sunday just to make a good
impression in their community. Piss on that, I make my peace with God,
at home. AMENdrinker
