Did you ever read a book and then see the movie and thought the book was so much better, or thought they did a good job with the movie?
I read the "The Notebook" then seen the movie, and thought the movie wasn't as good as the book. Not saying the movie was horrible or anything, just didn't care much for it. For some reason, whenever I read the book first, it always seems a lot better then the movie. Maybe because the book leaves more to the imagination? |

it's our imagination i think, that makes it almost impossible to enjoy a movie more than a book...

Many of the early Stephen King works were like that. They've gotten much better and much more close to the books over the years, though (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, etc.).

The majority of books I have read were a lot better then the movies of them apart for two "The lord of the rings" triology I think Peter Jackson made a pretty good version of J.R. Tolkien books, the books were still better but the movies were great to and also the book from Stephen King "The Shinning" I liked the book but adored the movie more.

They do that mostly cause the movies would be to long
but like Mr_Music said some movies are close Dances With Wolves was one |

i seen where the heart is not knowing there was a book. then i read the book and i promise the book is so much better.

I try very hard to avoid seeing a movie before I read the book. I like to form my owm images 1st. |

Yep, that's usually the case. Books have more detail. There ARE a few rare cases that I actually liked the movie better.

But for all the Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption good ones....there is a Dreamcatcher piece of crap that makes me NEVER want to see movies that are based on books that I have read. |

I hate reading... Having been a mechanic my whole life, i've had to read alot of theory of operation material, and im just burned out... Im afraid the movie will have to do.

No movie is like the book that's impossible, but it was very entertaining and wasn't trying to be exactly like the book. They were both good even if not the same but I enjoyed the movie more then the book. To each is own. |
