Sometimes I feel the headlines of threads are a replica of media sensationalism... and completely redundant, irrelevant, and nothing but sensationalism, meant to incite.... ....shows a lot about the mindset of the OP....  Incite? LMAO There is no need for me to incite! World protests at Gaza conflict Organisers of the London protest said it was "just the start of the campaign" Mass demonstrations are being held around the world in protest at Israel's military offensive against Hamas, as the campaign enters its second week. Israel has been a country for longer than dinosaurs had haircuts... your headline is Bullsh*te and you know it. Only in the Bible! In reality? NO!! The Romans defeated them and then they voluntarily migrated to Europe! Until The Zionist movement! The word itself has only one meaning! Zi·on·ism (zīə-nĭz′əm) n. A Jewish movement that arose in the late 19th century in response to growing anti-Semitism and sought to reestablish a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Modern Zionism is concerned with the support and development of the state of Israel. I am not trying to incite violence. Just trying to educate so that we can use Diplomacy to correct the mistakes made in the past! Like Iraq war style dilomacy?  You call what we did in Iraq diplomacy? I dont call any of our tactics used in the ME in the last 100 yrs diplomacy! None of them have worked and to keep repeating the same mistakes is ignorant! I am not some flower holding welting pacifist either. I would just as soon seal the borders of Israel off and bomb them until they realized what they are doing to the Palestinians felt like. But that would make me no better than them and rather than bring some semblance of peace and equality to the region would merely continue it under a different scenario! it's interesting, isn't it? I object quite clearly to the title of your thread..... irrespective of the unrest and suffering happening in that part of the world... and I don't take any of that lightly....and ALL I object to is that you state israel as a nation is only 60 years old.... ...and kaboom! We have deteriorated into a slanging match??? How crazy is that? And we wonder why countries bomb each other....

 Here is the difference between the Palestinian and Israeli approach. 1. Palestinians purposely shoot missiles at civilians to try to maximize civilian Israeli casualties. 2. Israel only attacks military targets after months of harrassment and they warn the neighboring civilians with phone calls and leaflets to leave areas where military operations are planned in advance. one is murder and the other is justified self-defense see if you can figure out which is which... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkJxAHBICrw You have one of the narrowest views I have seen! You also want to bring the cart in front of the horse! I didn't say the Palestinians weren't shooting rockets into Israel. I am only telling you to look at the reasons why. Israel would allow any non-military products and goods to flow in and out of Gaza. 3. It is that Hamas does not want peace. They want to foment dissent, arm themselves and attack Israel as Iran's proxy. Hamas is a radical Islamic regime wishing to force Israel to relinquish more land and accept a hostile military terrorist force in Gaza. 500 years prior to WWI the ME, including Palestine, was part of the Ottoman Empire. With a promise of liberation, the Arabs of the region, who had been discriminated against by the Turks helped the allies defeat the Ottomans. This led to Arab Nationalism and the creation of many of the States we know today. Still no Israel, but the British held onto Palestine, called British Palestine. They had already began the Zionist movement, but it really didn't gain momentum until after WWII. Before this all happened there were only a handful of Jews in the whole ME. The Romans had defeated them years before and most left the ME resettling in Europe! Next came a UN mandate to give 70% of Palestine for the formation of a Jewish State to 30% of the population. The other 70% of the population, Arabs (now Palestinians) were to get only 30% of the land. Because this was in reality theft the Arabs didn't think it was fair. Because the Jewish 70% didn't include Jerusalem they didn't agree with it. They wanted it all. They decided to heck with the UN and dispatched their terrorist groups to begin killing (bombs) British soldiers and still their weapons from the British Armories! This violence escalated to attacks on Hotels, crowded outdoor markets, and assassinations of British dignitaries. Before the UN mandate could take place the Jews declared independence and started the State of Israel! The Arabs retaliated and the Jewish terrorists groups began to exterminate whole Palestinians villages, (women, men, and children) as a weapon of war! The neighboring Arab States, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq, came to their aide but with the help of the US and Britain the Jews beat back their Armies and in the process took almost all of the land for themselves, and much of their neighbors land. People forget that if the Arabs didn't attack in the first place Israel would never had to push them back as far as they did. They have been attacking Israel ever since.
