The only thing I can think is to run a scan. Try downloading Malwarebytes (www.malwarebytes.org)

Good luck with that..even running a scan it will probably not show up as a virus. You are going to have to locate it and probably delete it manually...if you can.

Looks real good when it comes on. To bad it's not real. Always stop it and run the program you already have.

Can you boot into safe mode and remove it? You should be able to hit F8 when the bios screen comes up during the reboot to ge the option to boot into safe mode.

Go to free.avg.com and download avg free. Best lite weight antivirus out there. Also run scan with windows defender. If that doesn't take care of it you will have to reinstall windows.

Here is a step by step that should do the trick.
USED AVAST HOME ANTI VIRUS!
It is free!
AVG IS NOT THAT GOOD AT ALL!
AVAST HAS BEEN THE SHIZNIT for me at least! I have tried AVG and I am not impressed with it at all.
There is nothing Light Weight about Avast!

Try looking up the software in question on Yahoo or Google
with the word Removal. You can get detailed instructions in most cases this way. If not then:

to begin you have to try to deactivate the software. Also try uninstalling it. It may not let you. Unlocker Assistant may help. it is freeware you can get from >majorgeeks.com<. If you can't then just go to the next step. If the software is (and I think it is) malware this should do the job. Malware like this likes to attach itself to the windows shell in a way that when the computer is started it is shielded from deactivation and removal. If this is the case then proceed to the next step.

Load Avast Home onto your computer and let it run a BOOT scan which after your computer shuts off it will restart and begin a boot sector scan. This is so that the malware on your computer does not have a chance to start and install itself into the shell of Windows protecting itself from removal. Read carefully what it finds and if the folder is critical to windows try to repair it. Repair is an option of Avast during its scans. Other stuff just delete.

After the Boot Scan and the computer restarts load Adaware 2008 into your computer.
After it is installed update it.
Adaware basic is free. There is a Pro version of it for I think $20. It is not necessary. After you update both the program and its data base run the scanner and remove what it finds.

Next load C Cleaner:
It is also free.
Run it and the registry cleaner tool it has.

Next load Lexun RegscrubXP:
Run it and fix the issues it finds.

Next load and install SpywareBlaster:
it is freeware as well.
Update it and activate its protections. That should kill any pop ups once and for all.

Restart your computer and see what you get.
If the pop ups return you need to go to the next step.

Get someone who knows what they are doing in this part if you can't do it yourself!!!!!!!!
Next and this is the dangerous part,
CLick Start-Run- type -Regedit hit -run-.
You will be in the windows Registry. IF YOU SCREW THIS UP YOU WILL BE KICKING YOURSELF IN THE ASS FOR A LONG TIME!

You will need to know the name of the maker of the software to do this properly. If you can locate the program folder right click it and click Properties. You should find everything you need to know there.

Look for all references of the name of the software in the registry and all references to the company name. Control F will bring up the search screen. Keep clicking Find as you remove each and every registry entry you find ONLY for that software. Leave everything else alone. IF AND I MEAN IF you are told the folder you will be trying to remove is needed by other software to operate leave it alone! Control F ususally works well for locating a specific reference in the registry to the software you are trying to remove which is what you want to do. If you delete the wrong folder you will cripple windows.
If you do screw up there is a way to recover yourself. DO NOT USE RESTORE TO SAVE YOURSELF! If you do there is a chance you will reload the maleware you are trying to remove!!!
If you have XP pro what you can do is put the XP disk in your drive. Restart the computer. When you hit F8 you will be prompted to install XP on a partition. You select the partition that windows is already installed on and tell it to Repair by hitting -R- and it will restore windows to when it first was installed without loosing any data and installed software. I do not think that is an option on XP Home but there is a lot of information on the internet on the subject of doing a repair of windows. You also can get step by step instructions on removing the software you mentioned by going on line and typing the name of the software and the word "removing". More often than not you will find detailed instructions on how to remove these invasive malwares!

By all rights the software I listed above should do the job as well as help provide badly needed computer software maintenance. Do not go into the registry unless you really know what you are doing. Not all pay software is what it is cracked up to be. I use Error expert. It is $30 but it gets the more serious crap I can't normally get but likewise I have experience cleaning out a Windows Registry.

I have had to fix other people's computers from them loading bogus "repair", "Maintenance" and antivirus software and sometimes it is easy and other times it is a total BEEYATCH! try the internet first for instructions then try what I have outlined but again avoid the regedit if you do not know what you are doing in it!
I think you can bust the bug!
Just be patient.
