My daughter comes first. I have many times thought I may need to be alone until she is grown because so many men my age dont want small children.

That really depends. There could be a ton of different scenarios where my answer would change. What if they are bigots or prejudiced in some way? My family is very, very important to me, but I can't see myself not being with someone I love because of them.

That's how it was with my room mate. She's from Germany and her fiance's family are the "All-Around-American-Family". They gave her trouble from time to time because she wasn't born in America. Kind of stupid. But now, I think they have lightened up since she will be in the family soon.

I can't imagine being with someone who my family would reject so completely that I would have to choose between them.

If my significant other can't accept my family, then she can't accept me.

I am lucky to have such a tolerant family, and I can understand how some people could be put in a situation where they had to make such a choice.

Any relationship that makes me happy (and isn't clearly destructive) would make my kids happy for me so I can't imagine being in a relationship where I'd have to choose.

As for others in my family...that's a story for another time noway
