i have had this issue before with a different ipod,
but the usual cures are not doing the trick.
it seems to be skipping a few songs.
it's always the same ones,
and no matter how many times i restart the ipod,
or update the software,
it doesn't seem to work.
help?

First thing I would *try* is reload those particular songs. Delete them
from the ipod, then download them again. (Unless you already did that,
when you 'updated the software'?)

you may have to reload the songs

the files may be corrupted

see if the version of the song will play
on your computer version of i tunes

if does mark the automatic update box
manual update should also work

then plug i pod in should reload music

recheck i pod version of song it should now work

if does not work on computer i tunes then need to reload song on
computer

and then follow the appove steps

Did you try troubleshooting it?

My first thought was the same as adj - corrupted files. I don't know
anything about how apple's software works - is it possible the ipod
software is deliberately skipping the songs due to a licensing issue?
Can anyone tell us how to rule out this possibility?

its very possible that the licensing might be causing this problem
although, usually itunes wont transfer the song if the licensing is bad.
You may need to repurchase the songs.
