Given that it was 63 gorgeous degrees here today, it works in January too!

Would have to agree with the hike or picnic, blanket and star gazing, walk along the waterfront, visiting our Farmer/Saturday Market, bicyling, rollerblading, cuddling with a good movie, and since I play instruments if they do too, it's always fun to play together and make up silly songs

There's a brewer's festival going on, this weekend, for ale and beer and wine.
Small cover charge.
Great scenery/smells/tastes/mingling.

Go for a walk, window shop in the mall, dollar movie theatre or redbox movie rental, sit on the front porch swing, go to the zoo but pack your lunch, bowling (some have days that are discounted big time), play video games, play a board game.
Flea Market, yard sales, check out local festivals.

If I had a significant other, I'd say a nice walk either in a neighborhood, the mall, the park, beach...or just standing by a dock while the sun sets with the warm light breeze. *Sigh*

I agree with galendgirl on the hike and/or picnic. There's also fishing, playing cards, going to the local rec center or ymca for basketball or swimming, etc. Or you could catch a Sunday matinee.

hiking and camping in the winter is great! there's nothing like sitting around the fire when its snowing.

another good idea - get lost!
...no seriously - pick a cardinal direction and aim to find places for adventure or great pictures.

or --> act like a kid again.
go play on some swings or climb a tree.

- -- -- -- --

generally, if you smile a lot - and make an effort to laugh and be positive - you'll have a great time.

Find the swings in the park...oh man, I once lost my heart on the swingset!

any date that involved activity (especially outdoors) will trump an evening of sitting still

i save those "sitting still" ideas for a rainy day

(as if i have a long line of dates set up! LOL) laugh
