Do you have selfish neighbors who don't think of their neighbors? Case is noisy neighbors who don't consider you, parties until 2 a.m., or my favorite, air fresheners and plug ins that engulf your building and seep into your apartment, making you nauseous. Superintendants can do anything when something is in their apartment, such as air fresheners emanating from inside. I will own my own home in five years!

As bad as that can be, I will never own a house as a single person or married to a bum again.

And, when I did own a house, I still had obnoxious neighbors who played ball against my fence and knocked down an Eddie Bauer outdoor thermometer and had another who was into hot air ballooning who insisted on doing tests in their yard. Then there are the ones who insist on having a rooster for a pet, outdoors, of course, and the myriad neighbors who insist a lawn must be mowed prior to 6am on weekends. And the lovely white trash neighbors across the street who evidently knew what shabby chic was before it became popular and had no idea what they were doing to my house's market value!!! But, hey, homeownership is the American Nightmare!!!

Been there, had that happen. Now, my landlord is my neighbor. Both he and his wife are deaf, so they never hear my music, nor me thiers. I get the smells of their eastern Euro cooking wafting through the vents all the time, but they never consider sharing.. Bastards.

Wait. There is one thing. 6am, he's out shoveling the sidewalk, which is right up to my door. That bothers me alot on my days off.

I have a neighbor that USED to spray air freshner all over the dang building till about 2 yrs ago when the scent of her air freshner caused another tenant to have an asthma attack.

The Landlord kept telling all of us that there was nothing he could do since it wasn't breaking the lease in anyway.

The family of the tenant who had an asthma attack sued the landlord for medical bills. Well they settled out of court and the landlord didn't have to pay anything but he had to rewrite all the leases and make them effective immediately.

Other than two guys below me who wake up at 320 AM every frigging day. Talking in loud carring voices. Sunday getting told to leave by the police due to actions of another renter. I friggin love it here! Oh, I won't mention the gangs.

And being that I am literally SuzyBanker, did you KNOW that on a typical 30 year mortgage, and in spite of the "tax breaks" for homeownership, that the interest paid will be on average three times the purchase price of you home??? And that you will have invested approximately 25% of said purchase price into your home for maintenance, repairs and upgrades in order to keep that home in a "regular" state and for resale purposes????

Had those gangs in the homeowner/mortgage world, tooooo!!! Even in a nice neighborhood. And they can't afford or think about selling!! As a matter of fact, they literally make those homes "The Hood". At least once a renter "gang" doesn't make the rent, they will be gone shortly. That's 30 days of no rent. Mortgagors give 90 days prior to foreclosure proceedings. Then, some gangs are white collar and they will be there forever.

LOL, my friend--I needed the laughter. I have a new neighbor next door who "seemed" o.k., told me about how in the last place she heard everything, including "gas" . Should I get something that sounds louder than she heard? I can't blast off that loud. Maybe I'll tape loud lovemaking and play that out the door.
This woman lies when I ask her nicely to stop the air fresheners. She said it wasn't her. The place was engulfed and no one else was in the building.

From what I understand, she needs a man to keep her in line...LOL!

It's a hassle he rather not deal with, I'm sure. They had my complaint of another air freshener nut and his situation was an apartment that was used as a bordello. The smell of "that" became potpourri and plug ins. I will let you imagine the throw rugs and falling boxsprings I knew about.

I live in a duplex and I have an 82-year-old, fiesty 'Maxine'- type next door neighbor! She even looks like Maxine. When I moved in I thought, Oh great, she's probably can't hear worth a lick even with a hearing aid and I am probably gonna be able to hear her TV. Quite the opposite, her hearing is better than mine! She swears like a sailor when she's riled and has a heart of gold. She brings Buttercup treats all the time. She's a joy. I got lucky!

You don't have to be an apartment dweller to have inconsiderate neighbors-

I have to deal with all sorts of idiots for neighbors on a daily basis- they blast their gawd-awful music at all times of night... they let their kids run around like little feral monsters... heck- one neighbor threw a "quincinera" for her daughter, which attracted every moron in the neighborhood, which resulted in their throwing THEIR used beer bottles in the bed of MY truck, which was parked in front of MY house, which was a good four or five doors away.

When I went to my truck the next morning and saw what the cretins had done, I grabbed my push-broom and dumped all those empties on their front lawn. They weren't gonna put their crap on MY property and get away with it, you know... rant
