I "LOVE" a redhead. How lucky am I????

The pain and drug tolerance bit is SO true. Both times that I received full anesthesia, I woke up the second I was rolled out of the op, much to the nurses distress. On another hospital issue, complications presented. The oncall ER attendant approached, took one look and said: "Well, yeah, it's a redhead! What do you expect!" He quickly beat his retreat. Speechless was I. Are you kidding me, here? Every health professional's mouth, and mine, hung open in suspended disbelief. Course, lots of the "good stuff" tales are true too...

Both my parents have dark hair, so the joke was always "uh oh..........maybe it was the milkman!!" and I would just look at them in horror (I was little at the time....) and say "NOOOOOOO!!! The milkman is Mommy's brother!!!!!"

I have five brothers and one sister, and there are two of us with red hair, one brother and me. Yeah, I had one bro start out as a redhead freckle-face, just like me. He was 4 years older and folks still asked if we were twins. As he hit teens, his red hair browned up and his freckles gave way to tan. Never happened for me. Though, at 50, some browns are streaking through now. I've always been dumbfounded by the fact that a redhead is UNMERCIFULLY and UNRELENTINGLY teased until 13. Then, suddenly we are all the rage, take yours home today kinda thing. I've realized w/ age and observation, the ones that teased were always the ones w/ the secret infatuations. Funny what little boys do to hide their first crushes. Sure it went that way for most lil redhead boys too. ?

I was the only one in my whole family who had red hair till the new niece came along.. she has a bright orangish/red hair color.. its pretty.

Being a redhead is great - I think we stand out. It wasn't always a good thing - my first crush in school told me he'd "rather be dead than have red on the head". Broke my heart...

I always heard: Red on the head like a d!ck on a dog... A buddy that I used to pal around with used to say that same thing a lot...until I asked him, "Rich, when you say that to women, do you know that they are wondering why you've been looking at dog d!cks?" He stopped saying it, just about that time.
