Topic: Something in my eye ?

My eye was swelling and felt like there was something in it. I thought at first it was a curled eyelash or a bit of dust. Nothing unusual really. With in a matter of a hours my eye had swollen completely shut. With a clear liquid draining out of it. I went to the hospital and after prying my eye open, they stuck some dye in it. Then asked how if felt ? Bad question, seeings how i was ready to give this women a swift kick in arse for making it more uncomfortable then it already was. Turns out its a viral infection called Pink eye. She said it was catchy. I asked her how did i get it ? How long is it catchy for ? And how do i get rid of it, faster then just putting the gel into my eye that she gave me ? But she had an emergency call to tend to before i could get any answers..

Thanks - but how do you know when it's not catchy anymore ?

it is very contagious and very common. All it takes is for you to be around someone with it, they touch their infected eye and touch something else... then you come along and pick up the germ, rub your eye and tada... you have an eye infection. It's very treatable tho so no worries

Look up pink eye or conjuctivitis on webmd.com to get all the appropriate information.

No i don't touch it at all, but a clear liquid keeps draining from it. I have a box of tissues so that nothing else touches it. And washing my hands constantly to make sure that liquid doesn't spread it more through the tissues i use to wipe my cheek. And the cream the doc gave makes it a little less irritating. Yea i had a brain failure not looking it up to begin with. Doing that now. To all of you

oooooooooooh pink is very bad. If you work, you have to stay home. Its that contagious!!!! I have had it many times. Throw out all of your eye makeup, because its infected and dont use any until its cleared up.

It's so contagious that children aren't allowed in school until it's all cleared up. If other people live in the house with you, you need a separate towel. Hope you feel better soon.

Yea i got rid of the eye liner and mascara i used. Still not allowed out, hanging out at home and at kids. Thanks for the support, nice to have. Sons happy i can't go chasing him round town while he's being bad. That little rat came home and went shopping in my freezer, while i was sleeping. little he is. My daughter wanted to make bacon and pancakes this morning, till she noticed there was not one pack left to make. He took all three packs.. boy was she fuming then..
