Why is it that, when you meet someone on here and you've had a few good e-versations (usually 2 days' worth), all the sudden they insist on having a phone conversation?

It's happened, like 3 times. I make a friend, we e-chat, he says "What's your phone number?", I say "Let's keep it here for now, just friends" and *poof*, gone.

My profile says JUST FRIENDS. Go look. What's so hard about "Let's keep it here for now, just friends"????

Sometimes it doesn't take that long. I've had people send me messages asking for my number and I've never talked to them before or they send me a message with their name and number and insist that I call them. Psychos!

I don't know about just friends I'm looking for something more romantic and more permenant. If after a bunch of e-mails they don't want to talk on the phone they probably won't ever meet you.....that's no good

You're lucky if you haven't received first emails or friend requests with phone number.

I think the majority of people on here are looking for more than friends. Once they find out that you aren't interested in anything more, they bolt to search for someone who is.

You should be thankful you find out that they are not interested in being just friends so quickly.

LOL, I feel the same way you do, I mean, dang, can I get your first name before you ask for my number??????

and what's the difference with talking on the phone to typing on here, I see absolutely nothing and my phone number is personal, what makes you think someone is going to give that out all willy nilly, so that you could possibly stalk them!

If you earn the right to have my number then you deserve to have my number, but I'll take yours!

I don't know about you, but I get a better feel from hearing the voice. STALKERS BEWARE!!!

People are so paranoid. NO!!! I won't talk to you on the phone..but we can chat online. huh devil huh

Don't get me wrong... I've given my phone number out and had some lovely conversations with people I've met here. But for Cripe's sake, let me get to know you first!! Two or three emails through M2 isn't exactly making me warm, ya know?

I know that one aspect of it could be that there are some men out there that are just not very confident with their typing skills and/or their grammar and spelling abilities.

It's easier for them to talk on the phone. Personally, I think you can glean more valuable information from a phone conversation because you have the benefit of hearing their voice inflection... their tone, their breath, sighs, laughter, etc. I've had good conversations online by email or chat and once we talked on the phone, I could not understand them for their thick accent.

It's a matter of preference. Thanks to caller ID, I can always choose to ignore the person if he becomes a nuisance.
