Where the hell do you come up with this stuff?
![]() Any relationship can become strained when there are financial hardships. I think if the people are secure in their relationship and communicate their concerns then they can weather the storm of financial uncertainty. If not... they are probably screwed! ![]() |

for our dour economic status to ruin a relationship? If so why? After all true love knows no barriers... or does it? I think it can certainly strain it if one of the partners gets caught up in their own financial crisis & fails to share the load or unburden their worries onto the other. It's about communication in the end though. But this happens in marriage most frequently fighting is about money/finances... so yes I think it can ruin a relationship though it isn't the economy ---it would be the communication. Seems to come back to that again & again. |

for our dour economic status to ruin a relationship? If so why? After all true love knows no barriers... or does it? Of course it can, but not always in the manner you expect. Example- The industry I've spent the better part of a third of my life working in has been decimated the last decade or so due to out-sourcing and various acts of stupidity on the part of my state government. Not only is it getting harder to find work, but the work gets more and more stressful due to the tightening of budgets and the skimming of production dollars on the part of the producers. As a result, the stress of having to constantly deal with such stupidity will often wear down on me, which will affect my mood in a negative way. This will often result in a ruined or compromised relationship, as those very stresses will manifest themselves in one way or another. In the end, love (even "true love") probably won't know all barriers, as the relationship is pretty much doomed at that point. |
