Through a dark and chilly evening
My footsteps ended upon this place Winds caressing the canyon walls A fearful expression lined my face Standing here among-st jagged rocks I hear wailings of such deep pain Some endless quest for sweet solace Within a chasm devoid of all gain Salty tears rolled down my cheeks While comprehension encompassed me I never witnessed such pure dread Nor such a longing to be set free Have I died on life's winding path Or seeking knowledge within a dream Venturing to-wards a steep precipice Which is lined with fissured seams Through life lies some commonality With knowledge may we shed despair Grant us all the strength & wisdom May we escape such a terrible lair The sun glinting beyond the horizon Countless souls have found a relief I drift back slowly to my home front With deep happiness and sound belief Guide us gently to the love we seek Shedding all of our ill-lined past New freedom gained by wholesome love Provides us contentment sure to last Written by CyPoet 2/27/09
