Hello all you happy people of this website.

A simple question which is…Do you believe in soul mates, and if so then why.

See I promised it was a simple question.

In the past I would have said yes, but what happens when your supposed soul mate and you end up in a stale mate!! I do believe in it, but it takes hard work and dedication. I have yet to meet a woman who wants to dedicate themselves to me as I have done to them. Hopefully my outlook will change in the future.

Nice start kingme242, and good eventaully returns good. I have known women who have also given so much, and then just set aside as if useless, because something new came along.

True there is no guarantee in life – but bad experience should not be carried over to the next person, or the cycle thus begins.

I'd rather have a "sole" mate...flounder & shoes are my passion!

Negative. Although I do believe that two people can be on parallel psychological paths.

Personally I don't believe in soulmates just because logically if there was that one person out there for you that is one in like a billions and billions of people, if you add the philosophical debates of what a soul is I think of it a a form of energy and energy is everywhere throughout the universe, thus your soul mate could even be elsewhere in the universe. So this goes against the Idea of everybody has "that one" person they are going to be with. I believe it is just a matter of us maturing our view on what a relationship involves and being able to settle for less than what they believe is there perfect match. This subject also involves the us to discuss more like what a soul is and fate.

My soul doesn't need a mate, my body does though.

I used to believe in "soulmates" when I was younger. But the older I get...the more I am questioning the possibility.ohwell

each one met is a soul mate, and effect each soul of another, and add to it something, as in the end, all are mate's...

each soul is a test tube, as a vial, and each soul that is met, add into the the vial, either a drop, or a gallon, but still the same, the test tube is filled each day the more, each thing adding into it, changing what is thought of the next person met, of the next action, and when the vial is shaken, and then poured out, all that was, large and small, is seen to have had a purpose, in creating what was created.

the end of all vials is magnificent.

the mind find it difficult to percieve how it's own crap, created all the good itself knows, so make's it hard to accept other's crap.

no rose did ever yield, without thorns.

no rose ever came up thru the soil, without the raining down of dark and light, good and bad.

I believe its about being in the same emotional state at the same time --ready to give in a relationship, ready to accept...you want the same things out of it... willingness to communicate & having things in common.

I think we have the ability to love endless times so the soul mate thing is questionable but meeting someone who you mesh with so completely leads me to believe its more about finding the right personality to match our own...

Sounds like you should be dating on an energy scale of around 1.22 × 1028 eV, either that or a particle acceleration facility smile2

Very well written and perhaps a soul mate does not come into effect until that happens.
