I'm (Insert Religion Here), and though I am willing to date men with
other beliefs I do not want to convert nor will I try to convert others.
You say spirituality is one of your "must haves", what do you mean by
that?

Although I have answered her question, I want to get your opinions on
what would be a proper response. Note this is from my eharmony account.

that's a very good question.

I used to think having the same religious beliefs was very important,
but after some bad relationships, I kind of value having diversity of
beliefs. It gives you something non-trivial to argue about and it
enables you to learn things from your significant other.

Also, I think there are 6 billion different religions on the planet, so
it's impossible to find someone who matches you at every point.

you've got to go there... what else is life for, if not for going there.

Proper response would be whatever you believe. Anything else would be
lying, what kind of basis is that for starting a relationship.

What I would mean, is that you would need to believe in something
greater than yourself for there to be a relationship. I wouldn't say
that though, I'd let it come out in the process of getting acquainted.
It is something that is important to me, I don't think I could reconcile
my beliefs to an atheist. They for sure couldn't understand me.

I always tell people, I don't care what you believe God is, as long as
you don't think you're it!

One no one should try to convert the other to there beliefs to each
there own if one wants to convert that is differnt. For if you expect
that out of someone or if it is one of your must have's then you should
make it clear what religion they must be. But should never expect anyone
to switch there beliefs unless it is there own choice. Just my thoughts
on it.bigsmile

well sugar you wrote it. what were you thinking when you wrote it? She
wants to know what your spirituality is. That is what you lead her to
believe. What are you worshiping? Do you just believe in a god? What
god? Don't write a one sentence. Talk her through it. Give her
something to read. Women like a man that can carry on a conversation.
Get her involved with you.

A fair question to be asked, when you have stated spirituality is a
'must have'.

I would ask, and also expect to be questioned on it, if I had it clearly
in my must haves.

And for me, I guess it would be to have me answer,

Compassion for all living things, empathy, and above all else RESPECT
for all... and for the differences we have.

As to my personal beliefs, spirituality is so personal, my god,( I don't
have any one figure head) is not your god, my beliefs are not yours, but
somewhere in all that there needs to be an acceptance of the
differences.

Spirituality means something different to everyone, hence sometimes,
what appears to be conflict..
