Topic: So Annoying.....

The lack of respect I have seen over past week makes me sick to my stomach. I can not believe sometimes this is an Adult Site. The childish games, name calling, and belittling of others really pisses me off.

How some of you can sleep at night amazes me.

We are in the middle of war, the biggest economic crisis we have ever seen, and should be compassionate toward one another, YET some think they are better for whatever reason.....

When you can walk in someone Else's shoes and see life as they do, When you are so perfect, that no one compares to your greatness,
When you have no wants, no problems, then you my friend are God.

Until, then learn some manners, show some respect, and compassion for others.

Dangit.. I always miss the fun days.

Just kiddin'!

I know a couple of the moderators here and wouldn't dream of causing them any trouble. Well, in theory, because sometimes it is easier said than done. lol

Personally, I think there is a very big difference in someone speaking their mind and using language that is a bit colorful versus belitteling, demeaning, insulting, name calling and ridiculing someone.

In the past week, I have spoken out twice against someone with a ( that is just not nice) response when they chose to say HURTFUL things to someone for no reason other than that person joined in a public forum.

I will take "suck it up and grow a pair" anyday over someone being called a nasty, hurtful or derrogatory name.

Also, just for the record, it would be nice if people who cross the line would own up instead of telling others to just relax, take a breath and it was just a joke. If it was them, I am relatively sure an "I'm sorry" would be much better received than a "I was only kidding, chill out!"

This is just my opinion.

Well, that's your opinion... and you are entitled to it...

in every historical 'dark' time, humour, and 'venting' were a major part of recovering from such desperate times...

and truthfully, nothing in these forums have changed one iota in the two years I have been here... perhaps your perspective is a little bruised?

It's more than one person, more than one thread.

But if you Read and not SCAN what people type, you will see it.

Granted it is the Net, however sometimes especially when you are down, it still hurts.

Some call it humor, but I see no humor in belittling or mentally abusing others.

I thought I was the only one that noticed it, thats why I don't post to much. Most threads seem childish and some of the people are just nasty and arrogant.

Hmmmmmmmmm........if you tell it how you see it, and don't fluff with false platitudes, does that make you mean and nasty?

Australian colloquialisms are allegedly 'harsh'...it's a harsh climate we live in...sometimes I have had to do aussie 101, to interpret what I am saying...

I don't give what I can't take, and have much more respect for someone who can tell it how they see it, it's their truth...their authenticity.

If I wanted to be a cardboard cut out of what everyone wants me to be, I would be a cross between Doris Day, and Daisy Duke.

These forums give an opportunity for people to 'show' a little more of the complexities of human nature... all the colours, all the shades, all the textures... it's a snapshot of humanity, in mostly the Northern Americas...

Times are tough...no kidding!

I still refuse to be a fake.

Congratulations cutiepie...For correctly saying "must have" rather than the more common but incorrect "must of".

Very well put Kojackhappy .I have seen this type of attitude you are speaking of go on on another dating site foruums. It got so bad that even though I personally wasn't attacked I left. Some people who post must be full of venom and displace it by bringing it here where they feel safe, anynomous behind a comp. screen. Sadfrown

Is that why you got the looks and I got the brains? laugh

I just need to sidenote a little....Kojak, I do see your point, and that's why the forum rules were put in place...for equality.

Behind every screen, every post, is a living, breathing human being, with a whole heap of life stuff going on...I see these forums as an opportunity to connect, in a tiny, minute aspect of the global community... in a quite insignificant way...

Sometimes, the most apparent harshest meal to eat, turns out to be the kindest.

The irony I see is, most anyone appreciates honesty. However, virtually all of those people who appreciate honesty also subscribe to the "politically correct" movement, while being totally oblivious to the fact of political correctness being a complete lie in and of itself. They're not realizing the pretense of political correctness is to tell a fabrication of the truth to allegedly "protect" others from the reality of how substandard they really are. This sounds harsh, but it's entirely true. Example:

ME: "Hey, you guys! Meet my friend, the garbage collector."
THEM (insulted): "I am NOT a 'garbage collector'! I am a Sanitation Engineer!"
ME: "Oh, okay. So, what do you do at your job?"
THEM: "Uhh....I collect up the garbage...."

It's a fallacy. Nobody wants to hear truth. Nobody wants to FACE the truth. Nobody wants to make any waves, so nobody's little feelers get hurt. In a vicious, ironic twist, everybody still gets offended.

I've said it many times before, and Lee (Jess) just said it again not too many posts back: I have MUCH more repect for somebody who has the stones to lay it right on the line as opposed to attempting to sugar-coat everything. If you have something to say, say it!

there is a difference in stating an opinion and being down right rude when ya do it!!! Nothing is gained by insulting another person's thoughts or beliefs, there is a RIGHT way and a WRONG way to dispute someones ideas and it is the wrong way Kojak is talking about, a little respect goes a LONG way!!!
