With the possibility of drug money exchanging hands in an airport they have every right to detain him and ask where the large sum of money came from and what its intended use is. I don't like the way they handled it, but you generally don't see people walking around with a box full of cash in the airport. Next time they should do like every other normal person would do and take it to a bank and deposit it into an account that belonged to the political affiliation he is representing. But yes, they treated him poorly looked very unprofessional.

so carrying money is now a threat
how many shoe bombs have they found keep giving up those liberties for a false since of security shoes removed yer probably more likely to get a foot disease than be blown up in the plane from a shoe bomb it would need to be a major issue for me to ever fly and give up my liberties to do so it is a shame that others do not feel that way maybe the govt would figure out the people could stand for something (like that will ever happen sheeple) if the revenue went down enough ridiculous hoops would go away |

You're right....pretty much anything goes as far as rules at the airport. Of course at my airport, Homeland Security always looks either bored out of their minds or they are all jumpy waiting for something to happen. Depends on the time of day I guess. |

These cops were using search and seizure statutes to basically shake down anyone from out of town. They had a real money maker on their hands too since many who traveled through the town did so on their way to and from a casino in Louisiana. They seized cars, phones, cash, cell phones, jewelry and anything else they wanted including peoples children. They had pre-signed warrants and orders to remove children from their parents custody. Just fill in the date and time to make it look semi-legal right? You see they were using broad police powers and when people who knew their rights objected they were threatened with things like losing their children. Even when it is unwarranted getting your child out of social services is a nightmare. In only a small percentage of stops was any illegal activity discovered. These bastards are going to do what they like. So, KNOW YOUR RIGHTS and be prepared. |

The more I read and research the less rights we do have. In this instance, the LEO's have covered their ends, preissued (incomplete) warrants, threatening to remove one's children (doesn't sound pretty legal to me). Making one go thru Hell and back trying to prove one's innocence, get one's children back, just proves what Rights we no longer have. Thought one was innocent until proven guilty, but then again it's early and I must be imagining this one. |

The TSA staff that I have encountered, have been less than inspiring of my trust as our first line of defense against terrorism on aircraft.

well it finally loaded and i listened to it
the tsa guy should be required to go to a course on communication and anger management all he did was ask am i required by law to answer he could have said when asked why he had it (so i have money to spend if they do not take credit cards) (if he had credit cards) but irregardless it is not against the law carry money and it is not a threat to the airliner thus he should go after tsa for whatever he can get them for |

How much will you be willing to trust a bank that has the US Goverment on its board of directors? Would be like the inept leading the blind. |
