Although I am against war, and have always been quite vocal about it...

My son did a six month tour of Iraq last year...his field is Intel/recon.... so it's secret squirrel stuff...

it was a looooooong six months....

From mother to mother.... you have been through what we would never wish to have to go through...

Now I don't know what is going on..

First i was told of the exact day he would arrive..

now I am being told we will be told 72 hrs prior.

So...we either go..and he won't be there..or we don't go and he ends up being there. Cause the 72 hr time would be when we would be on the road...

I just wish things could be concrete....it certainly was when he was deployed...coming home is a whole different story.....

My happy bubble has just been crushed....I'm afraid things aren't gona go as planned...

I just want to see and hold my son....tears

I'm going to work..takes my mind off everything..

Have a great day everyone.... flowers

Congrats on getting him home.

I've never been to Iraq but my partner just came back (and left again) and said that when they catch fire, the Army rolls out with the rest of the convoy and leaves them sitting there. The MARINES roll up circling the wagons around them and kill the guys shooting. Funny to hear an old hard core biker say how much he LOVES the Marines, but I understand the sentiment.

thats the military for ya. they like to watch us civilians run around like chickens with our heads cut off.

regardless to how or when ... just keep tellin yourself he'll be on US soil ... near you.
