FBI using security camera to watch high school girls undress

@ 12:55 PM - EST

A West Virginia mall was selling prom dresses and accessories at affordable prices as part of “The Cinderella Project” when FBI officers used the security camera which they controlled from the mall’s secret FBI office to spy on high school girls dressing room.

The two FBI officers and are facing misdemeanor charges. Both have been released on $6,000 bonds.

Why does the FBI have offices in American malls in the first place?

This is another reason to stay out of the malls and support local business.

FAIRMONT, W. VIRGINIA –

An FBI police officer is under arrest and a warrant has been issued for the arrest of another officer, after the pair allegedly used a security camera to watch girls in a dressing room, during a charity prom dress event, court documents say.Gary Sutton Jr., 40 of New Milton, is charged with criminal invasion of privacy and being a party to a crime.

Both charges are misdemeanors.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a second officer on the same charges.

Sutton turned himself into authorities and was arraigned Friday morning in Marion County Magistrate Court.

He was released on $6,000 bond.

There is no word on when the second officer will be arrested.

If convicted, the men would face a year in jail and a $5,000 fine, according to the statute.

On Saturday, April 4, Hospice Care Corporation held “The Cinderella Project” at the Middletown Mall in White Hall.

The event offered prom dresses, shoes and jewelry at affordable prices and raised money for Hospice Care.

Hundreds of people attended the event.

Temporary dressing rooms were set up for the event.

The dressing rooms did not have ceilings.

Sutton and the other officer were on duty at the FBI’s satellite control room at the mall during the event, investigators say.

The camera in question was in scanning mode when it began recording on Saturday morning, court documents say.

At 8:26 a.m., the camera stopped above the dressing area, according to the criminal complaint for Sutton.

At 9:34 a.m., after a young woman entered the dressing area, the camera zoomed in and remained zoomed in until 11:00 a.m.

During that time period, several young woman entered the room and undressed.

One young woman was seen topless, investigators say.

Woo, yea!

There's you're "war on terror" in action right there, can't protect the border, don't respect the Constitution, but we can watch little teenage girls in the nude, because we aren't watching the borders, we aren't even looking at potential terrorists... we are in the mall, watching you.

now if that was anyone other than a federal agent what would the charge be

prom dressses

does that not probably make them under 18

and put them in possession of child pornography

if they can charge a person under 18 with child pornography for having pictures of themselves on their electronic device

then should not these invaders of privacy peeping feds have the charge of child pornography also be charged on them (after all they should not have nor have reason to have topless pictures of these girls)

they should loose there jobs for sure

just a thought

but hey

what do i know

This is kind of a halfassed story, were cameras deliberatly set up in an existing dressing room, or was the dressing room set up directly under cameras, as one suggested in the comments.

Anyway I don't particularly understand why the news reports half a story. Get it all and then report it.

Why was the fbi there in the first place. Is another question..

I wouldn't automatically assume guilt by the fbi here unless I had the whole story.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Two FBI workers are accused of using surveillance equipment to spy on teenage girls as they undressed and tried on prom gowns at a charity event at a West Virginia mall.

The FBI employees have been charged with conspiracy and committing criminal invasion of privacy. They were working in an FBI satellite control room at the mall when they positioned a camera on temporary changing rooms and zoomed in for at least 90 minutes on girls dressing for the Cinderella Project fashion show, Marion County Prosecutor Pat Wilson said Monday.

it's an invasion of privacy as well. they should be charged just like some perv that does it without the other person's consent

The Cinderella Project at the Middletown Mall in the north-central West Virginia town of Fairmont drew hundreds of girls from 10 high schools in five counties. Organizer Cynthia Woodyard said volunteers, donors and participants are angry.

the dressing rooms were set up for a special project to get prom dresses at an affordable price to raise money for a nonprofit group

they were set up specifically for the use of the girl to try on the ""prom"" dresses

prom dresses are ussually tried on by high school girls are they not

most high school girls are under 18 are they not

if they are under 18 and they are shown disrobing it ischild porn is it not
