i personally dont beleive in it but lets say theres a chance...when you talk about the apocolypse, or "rapture" or w/e u wanna call it
the christians "good" book mentions the dead shall rise, that the faithful are like herbs and gods grace is like the dew of spring time. in other words like herbs that die out in the winter they come back in the spring because of the dew but it says the wicked may also rise but will not ascend to heaven so what does this mean?? are we talking dawn of the dead or perhaps the dead rising means souls OF the dead? but if when a x-tian dies he/she goes to heaven why do our bodies have to rise up out of the ground? why do we need em?? if someone has a better understanding feel free to correct and inform. i think im a tad confused.

AIM,

No one goes back into the old body. Even the people still alive on earth when Jesus comes will have their present body changed instantly. (in the twinkling of an eye) the bible says

You know how a calender ends, and then you get a new one and the year starts allover again. Yeah, thats what I am thinking.
2012 rolls in and rolls out just like any other year.

I think some of it is hype left over from Y2K disappointment.

I don't worry about these things too much. Not that I think they can't happen, I just think that it's unlikely considering that every generation that ever lived thinks they have the date. Besides, there's nothing you can do to prepare that you shouldn't be doing anyway.

Physically you should be prepared for disasters because natural disasters really do occur.

Spritually you should be prepared - whatever that means for the individual - because sooner or later we will all die and we never know when.

And, because you could die at any moment you should always live and love as though you will never see your loved ones again after tomorrow.

Just my opinion.

Well, when I was young like you, haha, I used to think about this too much, sometimes so caught up in it that I couldn't live, now, at my age I realize life is sooo hard here on earth, God knows this, he is going to make lots of exceptions and let lots of people in, as far as the form we take, well, does it really matter at this point, we will prob be in spirit only, cause we can't all fit as beings...jsut a thought...have a nice day...and live and have fun, just believe.flowers

Some kind of phenomena will happen. We will still be here i believe. The 26000 year life span that this happens i just saw on the history channel that scientists are saying apperently from what they are finding Global warming was happening at the same time and it rapidly increased continually untill this cycle happened. They said they hope they are wrong because they believe florida will be under water when and as the date draws near. Shalom..MIles

Every Generation of Every Religion that has a "doomsday prophecy" believes the end will come during their lifetime. They have been wrong up to this point, and I see no reason why that trend won't continue.

Religious predictions are self fulfilling because people want things like the Rapture to happen.

Global warming is a crock of SH*T!

BUUUUUT, Keep this in mind, By 2012 the effects of overpopulation will be felt. We are just getting the warning signs of it now. Geologically speaking the earth has had the most stable weather patterns in the last 12000 years than it ever had in its entire history. Part of this is due to the lack of geological activity ie. volcanoes! They spew more green house gasses then any other competing factor including humans (including our industry) and the supposed "Cow Fart" theory. With Siberia thawing out methane emissions are at an all time high. All that frozen marshland thawing out is releasing huge amounts of Methane into the atmosphere.

If you took all of the ice on both poles and melted it along with all the mountain top ice AND managed to get all of the water out of the air then the water level of the oceans will go up maybe another ten feet IF THAT! Scientific fact the eggheads forget in their calculations, water expands when it freezes and also displaces a lot of water because yes it floats BUT most of it remains submerged. The whole Global Flood thing is a myth and BUNK!

I think that around 2012 we will see some cataclysmic geological Phenomenon that will create a near extinction if not a full blown extinction event. Yellowstone national park is a Caldera. That means the whole park is a gigantic volcano. To put this in scale, a volcano is a pimple on the earth, a caldera is an open bleeding abscessed sore. The Yellowstone caldera is being attributed to the wipe out of Mega fauna in north America before our written history. Also geologic records show that Yellowstone erupts every 600,000 years. Guess what, it is due. Evidence shows it is building up to erupt. If it does go in our lifetime kiss everything in a V shaped cone going east good bye. The gas cloud alone will kill millions immediately and do it over at least ten states. No a gas mask will not spare you from 400 degree hydrogen Sulfide gas, sorry. It will be raining burning rocks in Californian. There are two other Calderas, one in near Indonesia (Krakatoa ring a bell?). It is the biggest Caldera zone on earth. The second one is in California near Mono Lake. Long Valley is ringed by volcanoes and is thought to be a dormant Caldera, not a dead one. The volcanoes like Mammoth Mountain are still active.

Then there are super volcanoes that resemble cracks in the earth. Snake River Valley in Idaho is one of them. These are geological Phenomenon that have earth shaking implications if they go off. If these phenomenon begin to awaken again all the money in the world will not save anyone. It will be the same thing that killed the dinosaurs without the asteroid. All it takes is two weeks of the sky being blacked out and our asses are SCREWED COMPLETELY. Once the Algae and plants die off in the oceans the chain of events will be utterly devastating. Even with that the poison gas filling he air will do a number on animal life above the water line in general. Those who die outright will be the lucky ones because surviving something like that would take people with strength in excess of what many would understand because humanity in general got soft.

When the dinosaurs died off they all didn't just fall dead like someone threw a switch. Herbivores starved off first followed by Carnivores. All mega fauna died. What was left was nothing but small animals. Only the plants with hardy seeds managed to make a small comeback that after time recouped the losses of the previous extinction because life will always find a way, not human life. Those of us that do survive will have a lot on our plate for generations trying to eek out a living while the earth recovers over a period of tens of thousands of years to come.

And dead coming back to life? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAlaugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh !

Cha! As IF! When fire is raining down from the sky just clutch your bible and kiss your ass good bye. It isn't God doing it. Some volcano will have gone "BURRRRP" all over us! VIVA POMPEII!

Then again may God will have willed the volcanoes to go off? Who cares? Hot Volcanic Pyroclast doesn't care what your religious affiliation is.

The "bible " to me is nothing but a history book. and with that being said.. I run for cover.

I spent 6 weeks traveling Israel seeing all the religious sites and taking it all in.. I also come to find out that references to women and the roles they played were intentionally left out by the churches. And as one person said on here "the rapture" was added in the 1800's.?

don't know don't care. because my beliefs are of the nature that I know whats right from wrong and in my heart I know I am a good and decent person. I do not need churches and their doctrines or the "bible" to tell me what I should or shouldn't be doing in my life.
