I am new this whole "meeting people on line thing" and I was running a search and looking at photos of people within 5 years either way of my age - everyone looked "old"
 - LOL. Then I took a good look at my photos - Holy Cow - Who is that???? You know, it's funny how we think of ourselves the way we were at 30. Has anyone else ever been slapped up side the head with reality when they took a good look at their recent pictures? I'll tell you what, people are starting to look better and better to me now.

I look in the mirror every day and wonder who she is.  I have never liked having my picture taken..all my life..ask my son...now he is the same way.

Yes my mind is much younger I don't realize the wieght I am and those winkles that are coming that is just not me :)

Oh, Songster! You're singing my tune. I went to a couple of singles dances for folks my age and I thought, "These OLD folks are such troopers for getting out tonight". Then by 10 P.M. I was tired and started to get up to leave but my joints were stiff and feet a bit swollen.Geez! And then on t.v. there will be someone in a documentary or news show that is my age and I think, "Holy mackeral, I'm glad I haven't aged like they have!" But, deep down I guess I have.

It is something that started to bother me...more gray hair, more lines..and my hands!!! one day when my daughter was here, our hands were near to each other as we worked on a project...  Then, when I stop and think about it...what an honor and blessing it is to age, to hopefully gain some wisdom, to have so many great memories, and to not have to worry about being so young!! I have always loved my age...whatever that was, and now being over 50, I love that too! I look at my mother, who is 79 years...and she is a goer!! I admire her and I hope that I can remain active and enjoy!! each gray hair, each wrinkle, each scar, each sore area, all of the wear and tear...they make people beautiful!! when I see a person who is old...really old...I wonder about the hardships they faced and how much has changed in their world since they were young...I know how fast things have changed in my life!! so, I used to worry about things like this...now, not so much!! and when I do...I start to laugh cause I have started to name some of my wrinkles now!! and really, as Mr. Dylan said..."I was so much older then, I am younger than that now!" |

I just LOL when I read everyone's replies. We are all just gorgeous (and handsome) Boomers in our own way, and if the opposite sex can't appreciate it - to heck with them, I say! I may not look the way I did when I was 30 (gravity has a way of setting in in all the wrong places, doesn't it???) but I am way smarter and a better friend and person in general than I was back then. Thanks for making me smile!

Very few pictures of me, look good, to me.
Only when I have that onery glint in my eyes, thsose are ALL GREAT.

I am 61 and I think I get my mind-set from my Mother. She's 87 and uses a walker but recently she went to the mall alone and got her ears pierced!

I'm 54; but when I visit people, in many nursing homes; they make a person feel so young. For me, they make life so interesting. I enjoy each, and every one of them ,i visit.-----I wish to: WELCOME you also, songster.------

I will be 52 in September. Everyone who meets me tell me they are amazed I am that old, but when I look in the mirror all I see is my grandmother looking back at me!
